Love ya Esilef:D

and thankyou to Stuart:p they are a wealth of knowledge!

Now go hide somewhere so you don't have to get off, think William might give it away though.

Funny all cabin stewards are called Stuart

Oh the power points are not Australian bring adapters!

True, but Princess have a good scheme where you can rent the adapter for a deposit!

That way you're not compelled to purchase it if you'd prefer something else (or already have enough, but forgot it/didn't realise, and don't want to buy another).

Thumbs up to them for that.

Movies under the stars last night was jurassic world which was pretty good, ant man tonight. Smooth sailing this morning with fabulous weather [emoji2]

The boat doesn't seem to be very crowed though, not what I expected.

Good to have some recent movies.

Agreed it wasn't as crowded as I expected either. There were some vacancies, but I think even when full it won't be as crowded as say Voyager class.

An announcement was just made at 3.42pm that the casino has to close at 4pm "due to local gaming restrictions", which they have only just found out about. Seems they expected to stay open later as they apologised for the late notice. 18 minutes notice  If you put cash on your card and you don't cash out your card before 4pm, you don't get your cash back. So I just checked out the casino - there's a big queue!

I wonder if they accidentally cruised too quickly out of international waters? Or there was a miscommunication about how soon the ship would be in local water?

It was a bit of a stuff-up.

Not the first time with domestic cruises though, so the authorities are more vigilant of it.

Well I'm in serious trouble. William in his autistic I'm going to learn to talk glory. Told his father "on a bus, to the airport on a cruise ship" with all the media and this my little secret was out. Ex hubby spent the night text messaging me how hurt he was. Jealous he didn't get to go. Oh well the cruise was so worth it.

Esilef I do hope you bought your ex a Golden Princess fridge magnet just to let him know you were thinking of him while having such a ball without him :D

Re: the ship being uncrowded. The people in front of me at the passenger services desk were trying to get their cabins shuffled around and were told the cruise was 100% fully booked. I did wonder if that was a lie to make them go away because Princess were still selling cabins up to the 27th. If it's true, then yes the ship feels remarkably uncluttered with all those people in it.

I think they say that on every cruise these days. Gone are the days you swap around at will. I would say that the cabins they released for sale would have been 100% full:D

Please can someone tell me what currency is used on board.

We are boarding 29th Nov in Auckland.

Thanks.

Yes the currency on board is AUD, though there is still some stock with the old price tags in USD in the stores that I noticed when on board. However my account statement at the end of the cruise shows all amounts in AUD.

Good idea but no I didn't buy him a fridge magnet.......

Maybe he might like the water bottle the staff gave to William.

Poor ex is still sending text messages. His not a happy camper. Oh well. We are off to Europe next Christmas so he will have a full month to feel sorry for himself.

I would say this was a lie. I've learned that staff on cruise ships will say anything to make people go away. This isn't indicative of all people, but then and there, to whom are the customers going to complain? They can say whatever they want, and they do.

For example, the last night of the cruise, at approximately 1am, my partner and I wanted to order something from room service. Contacted the room service number several times with no answer. Called the Pursers Desk to be told there was no room service on the final night of the cruise, despite it being advertised as 24x7. Called back to room service shortly after and placed an order successfully. Soooo, yep.

Despite all this, the cruise was truly awesome. But any cruise is usually awesome lol and it really didn't feel overly packed, save for one of the days downstairs in the shops/atrium area.

Fantastic little cruise and am growing very, very fond of Princess.

I had moved towards Royal simply as it targets more families but this little cruise has made me rethink princess. The ship seems very much suited to all ages and demographics.

I wonder how many on this little cruise sampler will go on to book another cruise?

Everyone I spoke to seemed to want more. 2 nights were not enough.

Btw sorry about William. Riding the trike around the decks on the second night. He found them on the upper deck near the kiddies pool and had a blast riding over the ship.

Few nasty comments about him on a trike but the staff said they were there to keep the kids amused.

We saw William riding around on his trike [emoji1] and thought he looked like he was having a blast. Can't say we had any negative thoughts about a child riding around the deck, I can say we did think who on earth would pack a trike to take on a cruise [emoji15]

We had these mental pictures of some poor parents with mountains of luggage for 2 nights and were hoping they were at least getting a break before having to pack it all up again?

We've done two cruises with Princess so far:

13 nights last Christmas and where the demographic was evenly spread across all ages, lots of family groups etc.

17 nights Top End cruise in August where there were mostly seniors and only a few kids.

A lot depends on the length, timing and ports. A cruise 14 nights or less in school holidays going to the South Pacific, or maybe NZ, would probably have more family groups than most of the other cruises.

Sorry to hear you were subjected to nasty comments about William on the trike. Sad. :(

Blame Princess they supplied the trikes! Not a bad idea to keep little kids amused and make them want to sleep early. I got a few nasty comments but most people just laughed at him and probably me chasing him.

We had more choice words to say to adults. One in particular I made get off a lift and apologize to a child and his mother for being rude, drunk does not excuse rude! I think he copped a lot more from the lady he was with after they left because she didn't look happy with him [emoji107]
