So it's January 11th now and no one has seen the new delectible apps/snacks in suite?

The 'delectable' afternoon snacks may well go the way of the 'locally sourced' suite restaurant food. (It's all a dream of dieting PR hack.)

It does help to ask your butler for the kind of snacks you want.

oh yes. i know. i am a frequent suite cruiser. i was simply looking forward to something new that was promised, but shame on me for thinking I would get what was advertised on the date that was advertised, Just two short months ago.

Any new updates on this?

Still see nothing with a link that says Jan. 1....

maybe they changed it since yesterday. I am not making it up. i will be on the last cruise in january, so if at all, this would need to be the one they implement on...if we went with the theory that they said 'sometime' in January.

Why don't you just go on your cruise, & see for yourself what they offer you in your suite. It appears that you are obsessing about details of your cruise to the point that you will be in a frame of mind that precludes you from enjoying your cruise. It's too late to cancel, so just go & have a good time. And if they don't give you what they promised; vote with your wallet in the future.

On Eclipse now on Day 3 of 14 day cruise in a Royal Suite.

*We did get the bottle of Perrier Jouet (we thought it was just the standard cheap bottle of sparkling wine so we ignored in the bucket until now - glad I read this thread)

*No Bulgari toiletries just large white bottles made by Gilchrist and Soames

*3 pieces of fruit - was changed on Day 2 (even though we did not eat any) but not today (even though one piece was eaten)

*Several large bottles of Evian water in our refrigerator/wine cooler, refreshed daily as needed (this was on our original request list pre-cruise to the concierge though)

*All the other requests we made to the concierge for alcohol and mixers were fulfilled except I did not get a hard cider drink ( not on the official list but they said they'd try - they did provide a Belgian beer we requested even though not on the list) or pineapple juice ( likely because our refrigerator was full with other stuff including OJ and cranberry)

*Daily snacks from the butler appear no different from what we've had the past few years in Sky Suites, although the little sandwiches are now a little wider bread but open faced (and totally soggy)

*Room service just as horrible as it's been the past 3 years in Sky Suites - this morning we were missing one order of bacon, hash was flavorless, my hash brown was literally hard as a rock (it didn't

Break when tapped against the table), and all food was lukewarm. We reported this to the butler who said he would notify the kitchen. That is said every year and nothing ever changes...

*As someone else mentioned, bags were left in the hall for us to drag in. This was likely a timing thing though as we came back to our cabin just after they had been left there so no time for butler or room attendant to take care of.

*As usual, trying to get 7 or 7:30 dining reservations (Luminae or Tuscan Grille) is impossible. Of course then you get to the restaurant and find it half-empty (Tuscan). This has always been an issue for us with Celebrity. Thought maybe being Royal Suite would have some influence -guess not

*We haven't been in Michael's Club nor met the Concierge. There is no communication left in your cabin as a suite guest from her save for generic Captain's Club letters/invites/coupons.

*Express embarkation was indeed that. Took maybe 15 minutes from time we entered building to boarding ship.

*Luminae was nice. Intimate atmosphere and quieter than main dining room (with one note below) Friendly and prompt service. All special requests were met without question. Drinks delivered quickly. Of course on a cruise with perhaps a handful of children on it, two noisy ones had to be in Luminae the first night we ate there. Not Celebrity's fault but it ruined the mood. They are open for breakfast and dinner daily but lunch only on sea days. We were told we could have lunch in Bistro on 5 on port days.

*Our butler Gene is attentive and friendly; will likely be the best we've had with Celebrity so far. We don't use him for too much though.

*Bed is comfortable but I thought it was supposed to have changed to some sort of adjustable mattress? Thought I read that somewhere.

*Haven't heard about free laundry. Will have to ask about that.

*Free internet as advertised. Connection has been absolutely horrendous though. First two days you could barely even open email or see Facebook updates without it taking forever. Better today.

Overall we like this Royal Suite as it's great to have more space and is conveniently located but is it worth the extra money? Probably not, even with the casino and travel agent discounts we received. There isn't any extra service that's given versus something like a Sky Suite and the extra perks are either useless to us (Michael's Club) or don't equal the cost differential. We'll be thinking over whether we want to book one of these in the future.

I was recently on my first X cruise in a Silly RS and had similar room service that was disappointing to the point I quit ordering it after the second try. NCL Haven room service has always been exceptionally good, it looks good, tastes good and is hot. Very sorry to hear it's the X status quo.

The afternoon snacks seemed like something I could have gotten from the buffet so it will be easy for X to improve on those, I hope they do but I do not need another meal.

Which deck are you on, please? We shall be on deck 11 from the 24th and I am starting to wonder who our butler will be.

I suggest that you just send whatever laundry you need in the normal way. We have not paid for any laundry for our latest two cruises [both before the January change] although we expected to. We just were not charged for it.

Don't dismiss Michael's Club without giving it a try, we have enjoyed some great pre and post dinner drinks there! Also talk to the conceirge about your disappointments and I'll bet your breakfast comes hot tomorrow and that you have no trouble anymore booking 7.30pm for dinner...

UPDATE: During turndown service last night Bulgari products made their appearance in our bathroom and the other products were removed (save for those we were already using). Not sure if someone saw this thread and reported it or if it was just a coincidence.

Gave room service another chance and it was improved this morning after we had given Gene feedback yesterday.

In answer to someone else's question, we are on deck 11.

I am not sure if this is a new benefit, but the luggage valet program is free for guests in suites. (The extra charge and not the airline baggage fees). Also there are no over weight charges for anyone using this service. As previously only available for certain airlines and times.

Agree with you Rich, I hope she has a good time.

As an aside, I've been perusing this board recently which appears to be turning into the Suite complaint board. I almost don't want to book anymore cruises with all these "entitled" people. I realize they pay more for the cruise but some of the complaints are just so petty. Just my opinion.

And I am not writing about Jenny.

By the way, I can afford to have any cabin on the ship, I just choose not to, I'm just not a Butler person

I was thinking the same thing. It seems that since Celebrity sweetened the suite benefits, there have been more complaints from suite guests than there ever were before the changes. I suspect that some of that has to do with the fact that Celebrity has a tendency to promise in their marketing much more than they actually deliver, but this is true in all categories of late.

Rich, I'm definitely on the same page with you and dkjretired. I'm kind of dumbfounded by anyone who would make the brand of toiletries, or the type of afternoon snacks a deal-breaker, in booking a suite.

Over our years of cruising X (and RC, before that), we've had "meh" experiences in various suites, and outstanding service in plain old veranda cabins -- and, vice-versa! And while we appreciate nice accommodations and good service, we cruise for the overall experience provided by the brands we choose.

Perhaps those who are so picky about details (and who can afford the higher-end suites on X) should consider booking one of the true luxury (as opposed to modern luxury) lines. They might be happier on Oceana, Crystal, or Seabourne. But, one thing I do agree on: X should not be advertising things that it does not plan to deliver. It's just plain bad marketing!

I simply wanted to know if the perks advertised have been implemented. Please start a new thread if you would like to criticize posters comments.

If you are referring to me, this is not a 'deal breaker'. I never said it was.

In addition, I am not 'obsessed', just simply wanted to know what recent cruisers have experienced as it relates to new features promised to suites.

Please do not use my thread to talk about so-called 'entitled' suite guests. Start your own thread if you want to talk about that.

Thanks.

I don't believe that I used the words "entitled" or "obsessed" in my post. Perhaps you should address those posts separately. And, I'm glad to hear that the details are not a "deal breaker" for you, after all. Hope that you enjoy your cruise, and will tell us about how the new suite perks are being implemented, when you return.

So now we go there again! Some inside cabin cruisers bashing the Suite cruisers! Honestly if I pay so much $ I do have some certain expectations! X is not cheap anymore if you sail in one of the premium suites and it should give you a bit of a difference! If the advertise Bvlgary, free laundry and many more amenities it should be there! It is not an entitlement it is a comfort thing and it got promised by X, you booked and paid for it that way!

Also I am sorry you do not understand!

Who said they are inside cabin cruisers? Why does it matter? I share the opinion of richsea, dkjretired and others here and I stay in cabins all over the ship. The suite amenities being discussed here are still bedding in and a little bit of patience and less worrying would be a better bet in my view. It's not life and death!

No one said these are life and death issues.

And to go back to other posts, actually I am 'entitled'. I am 'entitled' to the things Celebrity said are included in their suite experience just two short months ago. They should not roll out advertisements to reel in customers with dates attached if they can't deliver. As said, these are not make or break things by any means, just really annoying to get notifications on enhancements with dates attached and then...nothing. It's disappointing.
