Where to stay in San Juan?

My fiance and I are planning to stay a couple days in San Juan before we sail on the Adventure in June. Can anyone suggest a hotel for us?

One of the nicest we've ever stayed at is the Marriott Stellaris.

La Herencia Hotel San Juan. This is in central old San Juan and well within walking distance of restaurants and the forts. It is a 5-7 minute drive to the port. We stayed there for two days before our cruise two years ago. We were even upgraded to the roof top terrace! There are only 8 rooms and they sell out fairly quickly. It's classified as a bed and breakfast.

Another vote for the Marriott Stellaris! Something others haven't mentioned: it's right on the beach if that is your sort of thing. You can lounge by the pool OR take a few more steps and be on the beach frolicking in the waves.

The beach and the pool are very nice, the beds were extremely comfortable. They have a few different restaurants onsite and there are other restaurants nearby. There is also a Walgreens if I remember correctly diagonally across the street where you can pick-up stuff for your cruise.

For the essence and style of OSJ then look at El Convento. But for a modern twist then consider La Concha

We enjoyed our stay at the SJ Suites on Forteleza in OSJ. It was a great location with lots of places to eat close by. It's an easy walk to the forts and an easy downhill to the cruise terminal. It's a basic hotel without many frills but we got a great rate.

If you are on a budget we liked the coral princess...a short walk from the marriott and beach.....you could still go to their casino....it was funky but very comfortable room and a good rate as we arrived later in the day and had a 12 hr tour the next day and then on to the cruise the next....not much time to enjoy pricey amenities..,I liked the marriott but only arrived the day before like a LOT of others and check in took,literally,hours....
