Oh, yuck... I am pretty sure with the roll-out of the new premium mattresses, the last place they want them is on a balcony exposed to dirt and salt.

This is definately reportable. If you aren't suppose to dry your swim suit or towels on your balcony-- I can't even fathom how Princess feels about having a mattress on the balcony.

Dirt and salt are one thing but other bodily fluids from overindulging are another. :(

Glad to know they don't seem to be being disrespectful. I thought it was pretty clear though that you should be wearing a cover up in some of the public areas on Princess. We were on the Emerald at the end of March last year and that is definitely the end of Spring Break season but there were quite long lines even then for drinks. So I can only imagine!

Chris, if you see this give Steve and I a call again. I can't find your cabin number anywhere so haven't been able to respond to your message.

I have the golf cart rented and we were thinking of getting off at 9. Hopefully you see this so you can still join us!

Nope, not UNC or Duke. Spring breaks don't start for them until 11 March. However, NC State is on break, as are some other UNC-system schools (Greensboro, for sure) and Wake Forest.

It sounds like there might be another group ready to board in mid March.

There are two items that Princess should consider.

1. Discontinue the drink package during spring break season.

2. Don't schedule the 4 and 5 day trips during spring break. All this does is attract party animals.

Leaving 3/10 for a four night on the Emerald. Wish us luck. Will see what happens. Have been on many cruises with many senior like us, so it could be a new experience. We shall see!!!!!!!!!1

This isn't really true - where I live, spring break is right now for K12 for my city. The main state university (and their campuses) is the 3rd week of the month. There is no rhyme or reason when these are, except for some schools do go around Easter and some schools go around state holidays (MA is one of them). I have sailed the first week in April a few times and there were plenty of K12 spring breakers at that date and it was not near Easter. So that may be the philosophy where you live but not all over.

Basically - you can expect K12 and Universities to be anytime from President's Day to mid-April.

While I appreciate your feedback, I am basing my opinion off of cruising every year during spring break time, and we have yet to experience any university students onboard, to the extent of what the OP is stating. So yes, it may be different where you are at, however I work in the school system and our spring break is always the last week of March...

Carolyn...just saw this note. We are sitting out by the pool at Margaritaville. Sorry we missed you and Steve. See you in the sanctuary tomorrow.

Was on a 5-day Ruby cruise in 2014, and didn't have any problems at all during spring break.

I think that was before Princess offered the AIBP with unlimited alcoholic drinks which has made a big difference on the OP's cruise. :(

No, drink packages were offered on that cruise.

The drink package is only a available for 7+ day cruises according to our TA. Unless they are on the B2B cruise.

This was briefly true when the AIBP was first rolled out a couple years ago. Not any more--many, many reports on here from those who bought the package on short getaway cruises. Your TA is well behind the times.

ETA: I see you are on Emerald next week--wasn't the AIBP available for purchase in your cruise personalizer?

Agree - I am on a 4 day cruise leaving Los Angeles on Thursday and we do have the AIBP ( we love this plan - both pay for it - don't share and it saves us mucho dinero). Am hoping that the west coast short cruises don't have as many spring breakers as Florida does. Usually we take 12 - 21 day cruises but couldn't pass up a casino rate and casino cash - even with paying for the AIBP it is basically a free cruise.

You will be fine next week. I was just with one of the security guards and he said that this is not normal and that next week will be very different.

Some poor young girl is at the end of the pier ready to throw up and isn't doing well. According to one woman, she asked where the cruise ship was! The woman was kind enough to tell them that they need security to go get her with a wheelchair which hopefully they will do.

There are some very nice young kids on board and we have enjoyed talking to many of them. It's just overwhelming when you have 600 of them taking over the pools and bars on the top deck.

Security had a big presence yesterday at the pool watching everything which is a good thing.

We are still enjoying our cruise. Rented a golf cart today and went to a beach and enjoyed the beautiful weather and blue sea. Had lunch at The Sandbar which was just fantastic. Their conch pieces were excellent.

Back on board and tonight we go to Share for dinner

Thank you for the shimmery glimmer of hope, Carolyn! I have nothing against college kids. I have actually spent a quite a bit of time around them. Not a fan of vomiting, college kids. Come to think of it, not a fan of vomiting anyone!

I hope the power came back on. I am thinking it did, as there has been no report otherwise!

Have a great sea day tomorrow!

Well, this is interesting, we have lost all power! Feel sorry for those in and inside cabin trying to figure out what happened. Hopefully it only lasts for a short while.

This kind of thing is why I always pack an LED flashlight, just in case! :D
