rdsxgrl28 Posted March 14, 2016 #2 Share Posted March 14, 2016 No, you can just leave the paid for gratuities. You can also give an extra tip if you think you had some stellar service, your discretion. Totally up to you. Now let the fun begin!!!! We need a popcorn emoticon:p
Langley Cruisers Posted March 14, 2016 #3 Share Posted March 14, 2016 If you have pre-paid, then everyone is already covered and the cruise line will disperse them to the various crew members. However, you may wish to give a tip to room service staff, a couple of dollars is great if it is a small order. As well, some passengers give extra to staff who have helped make their vacation memorable - if your cabin steward did an outstanding job, then feel free to tip him or her an additional amount, but it is not necessary. Relax. You're done. ;)

cb at sea Posted March 15, 2016 #5 Share Posted March 15, 2016 NO!!! You're done! Except for room service...all who are supposed to be tipped, will be!
SadieN Posted March 15, 2016 #6 Share Posted March 15, 2016 You've prepaid gratuities for your cabin stewards and public food service. It's best to extend a tip when ordering room service. A % will be added to your bill for beverage service. This can be anywhere from 15%-18% depending on cruise line. It's customary to give tips to Spa, child care, and casino (when winning at the tables). Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app

Thanks:confused: Welcome to cruise critic:D Done and dusted, some people tip extra on top of the auto amounts, and while it is welcomed by the staff, it is not required. ithaca gal Posted March 15, 2016 #9 Share Posted March 15, 2016 Happily, you have already tipped everyone who needs to be tipped ... no additional is expected. :) I wouldn't say that no additional is expected. Many crew members knock themselves out to make your vacation memorable. Not to acknowledge those who put in extra effort isn't very nice. While those giving service may not EXPECT, there definitely is a HOPE there that their efforts are rewarded. Last week we had amazing Cabana Stewards, great dining stewards in the Main Dining Room and the specialty restaurants and hard working Room Stewards. We tipped them all a little extra and they really appreciated it! While we wouldn't tip extra for non-special service, we have never had that happen. We budget for the extra tips and get great joy from showing our appreciation to the crew with an extra envelope.

Rare Keith1010 Posted March 15, 2016 #13 Share Posted March 15, 2016 As mentioned you are all set. If you would like to increase any tips or add a tip you can do that on the ship. Wishing you a wonderful cruise. Keith
Grandma Dazzles Posted March 15, 2016 #14 Share Posted March 15, 2016 On RC if you are staying in a suite and have access to the suite or concierge lounge you should tip the servers in there. Drinks are complimentary and it is customary to tip the servers, either per night or at the end of the cruise, also the concierge if you use their services. GUT2407 Posted March 15, 2016 #15 Share Posted March 15, 2016 My first cruise....I paid for gratuities up front am I still expected to tip everyone? Thanks:confused: Welcome to CC. No you don't have to. But I will warn you, you may want to, sometimes the service is THAT good. I have seen some crew who who seem to expect it or "fish" for extra, but they are the absolute minority in my experience.
teknoge3k Posted March 15, 2016 #16 Share Posted March 15, 2016 Don't forget the porters. I believe it's customary to tip them $1 per bag?
Rare MicCanberra Posted March 15, 2016 #17 Share Posted March 15, 2016 Don't forget the porters. I believe it's customary to tip them $1 per bag? Depends on the port, apparently some ports have signs asking people not to tip the porters.
Cruisin'Christine Posted March 17, 2016 #18 Share Posted March 17, 2016 You just need to tip a dollar or two, if you order room service. Also, you want to tip the person that takes your luggage at the ship before you board. Other than that, my husband and I only tip additional if someone has really gone above and beyond.
