New Promo is Posted

Photo package says 50 unique photos. Feel like you would spend the whole week hunting down a photographer to reach 50!!!! Although if you did a nice photo shoot in the atrium I guess that number could go up quick.

Depends on the photographer...

This is the first I'm even hearing that there's an arcade. Do adults use this area? I would imagine it's covered over with kids.

Free beverage package + a bunch of adults in the arcade feeling obligated to use credit sounds like not a great scenario :p

Next time around they should offer a $100 credit for fitness classes. Make people feel obligated to get up 6am for yoga… ;)

They have arcade games set up in other places, not just in the arcade (like in O'Sheehan's on some ships). I actually think plenty of adults enjoy them, or would enjoy them if they had this credit.

As for whether the arcade or the photo gallery can handle the added demand, on any given sailing the number of people who will actually have booked with these two perks will be pretty low. Assuming this promo only lasts a month or two and they don't start including photos and arcade credit with all new bookings until the end of time.

On the Dawn two weeks ago. The arcade was a very small room. if there were ten people in there it would have been crowded but I don't think there were ever that many. We had 2 little kids with us so we did let them play a few games. I would say that at least 25% of the games were out of order, others did not give you any tickets at the end. The real kicker was on the last night of the cruise we told the kids we'd turn in their tickets (these are 3 and 4 year olds who have no concept of value) and get them each something. There was a guy in front of us doing the same thing and the machine where you put your tickets quit working half through his. We never got to redeem any of ours. Like I said, not a big deal to us but if you spend $100 in there I would think it might be. There was no attendant and no one around from NCL.

I think NCL has hit the bottom of the barrel on this month's promotions.

Does anyone know how long this promotion will last for? Worst one I have seen...

When we booked Getaway for May 2014, our promo for booking a balcony cabin was $25 OBC per person, first 2 passengers only. It's hard to believe this is the worst promo you've ever seen.

By the way, we were happy we'd gotten a promo.

True no promo is probably the worst promo...

But there for sure have been better than this...

I think a $100 casino credit would make them more money than $100 arcade credit..

It sounds like I'm the only person on Earth who received 100 emails announcing that the "get 2" offer was expiring on Saturday. Lucky for us that we booked a balcony with free booze and UDP with a $1059/pp balcony cabin cost. Maybe with such positive feedback, NCL will go back to $50 OBC offers.

Sorry, having trouble with the fine print -- inside rooms still get to pick one, right?? It doesn't give the option yet this morning for either the inside or balcony room I want.

Also, the cruise prices didn't change for us -- the main difference is that there is an arcade credit and photos along with the pick one? Seems like an upgrade to me or am I missing something? Teenager would like the arcade :D. Can you use the pictures to take some from the rope course or is that separate?

Also, this pick one, if we have four people, does it apply to all or just the first two people? If it's the first two, I think UBP is useful -- if it's all 4, def the dining plan. Isn't it awkward to ditch half your family for dinner ?! We're communal eaters :).

They have finally fixed the link to the fine print, so it should answer most of your questions:

Terms & Conditions May 2016

It would be nice if for once they were taking some extra time to make sure they got the details right, but then that wouldn't be the NCL we know and love, would it? For suites/Haven it still says "Get all four" (even though they have reduced the offer to 3 choices, and the front page says "Haven guests receive all six offers!"), and they have deleted all mention of the SDP from the T&C, even though this is apparently still a perk for suites/Haven.

Anyway, we have some more info about the arcade credit: it is per stateroom but applied to guests 1-2. Hopefully guests 1-2 can use this credit to cover arcade charges that are actually rung up by guests 3-4 (your kids) with their key cards, as long as all the cards are linked to the same onboard account.

I an really glad I booked my studio last week. My PCC told me it was NCL's plan to have a dry month on the promo side. He said customers were starting to take the awesome promos for granted and NCL wanted to have an impact on sales when they come back with other awesome promos, in a month or two.

Am I reading this promo completely wrong? Instead of just getting UBP or SDP with a booking a balcony cabin, I'd now get UBP plus a photo package, FF sail free, and $100 arcade credit, right? Is this a dry promo, as some say? I'm very confused. Even if you don't use the stuff, I guess I don't see how this is a worse promo than most the past couple years.

In EU site they are still having the old promo till end of June (unless they haven't updated site yet).

Lucky that I booked my cruise on Studio during the previous campaign (free UBP). Wouldn't be interested in current promotions.

Sorry! Insides and studios get no options to pick. I'd wait until after May 22, when this promo is scheduled to end. It's hard to believe it would be worse than this promo.

NCL needs promo's to fill cabins. They've set that expectation with cruisers more than any other cruise line.

That's how I read it too.

Insides = all 3

OV and higher = all 3, PLUS 1 of the choices given

That's what the front page says, and I'm guessing that's what the promo is, but the T&Cs say:

Pick One: Studios, Insides, Oceanviews

Pick Two: Balconies & Mini-Suites

Get All Four: Suites & Haven

So they just failed to modify these terms from the previous version of the promo. Very, very sloppy. :(

I have been waiting for May to book a cruise next September (2017) and now am very disappointed. Do not want any of the promos, the no frills price is not available and I understand the AARP 5% discount has been ended. Regretting the cruise next deposits we purchased. I admit that I felt the best promo we ever had was the included daily fees.

What an awful promo [emoji23]

I agree. I don't like taking photos and always run away from the camera. Arcade credit really? I'm in my 40's and the only arcade games I know are pacman, donkey kong and space invaders.

Bummed by this new promo also, since arcade credits and photos are of no use to us. And the Friends & Family Sail Free, which would have helped us, only applies to the same 2016 cruises. I am looking at June 2017. I think I'll wait until after May 24th (the expiration date that shows on the terms and conditions as of this morning) and see if they come up with something better.
