interesting that the insides still has full  solo supplement.

even more interesting is that a regular inside costs more than a regular ov!! ($1600 for 2 vs $1050 for 2)

I booked an inside cabin almost two years early for the January 2020 Gem New York to San Francisco cruise at a fairly steep rate, but only paid $1. deposit...

I am carefully watching the January 2019 Gem New York to Los Angeles cruise, to see the pattern of fare reduction's as the sail date gets close.   It is already less than half what my fare is, and I suspect it will continue to drop.

When final payment is due for mine, based on comparison, I may take a chance, cancel, and wait for last minute to rebook, if it looks like a similar trend...

Princess does not have any solo cabins, so you are paying the cruise fare for two. You only have to pay port taxes and gratuities for yourself. 

 

I’m not aware of any reduced solo supplements with Princess. I’m a destination cruiser (don’t repeat places I’ve been) and they offer itineraries that interest me. I budget accordingly. If you are just looking for a generic Caribbean cruise, for example, there are probably better price points on some other cruise lines as a solo.

Not dirt cheap, but I consider it a good price if you can get reasonable airfare or tag it onto something else.

MSC has slashed some itineraries.
