tracyjane121 Posted November 20, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 20, 2016 Hi all Did my first cruise this year on the majesty with Thomson cruises, did the Catalan Promise itinerary, really enjoyed it, especially the fact there was no full sea days and we got off somewhere different everyday. Does anyone know of any other ship with an itinerary with no full sea days?? Thanks Tracy :)
Rare sparks1093 Posted November 20, 2016 #2 Share Posted November 20, 2016 The 3 and 4 day itineraries are without sea days (maybe book them back to back for a 7 day, but of course you would be re-visiting some ports).
Jarvijt Posted November 20, 2016 #3 Share Posted November 20, 2016 We've done MSC med and they had a port every day. Check them out. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Rare Lionesss Posted November 20, 2016 #4 Share Posted November 20, 2016 OMG I would need a cruise after this cruise to chill. We actually look forward to sea days to relax and explore the ship. But I must say we have never done a port intensive itinerary and really do not know. Enjoy!
easyboy Posted November 20, 2016 #5 Share Posted November 20, 2016 Depends on the ports of your choice. Short cruises may be to your liking. Sent from my iPad using Forums

chengkp75 Posted November 20, 2016 #8 Share Posted November 20, 2016 NCL's Pride of America has only 5 nights, no days, at sea on a 7 day Hawaii itinerary.
alexspepa Posted November 20, 2016 #9 Share Posted November 20, 2016 did a 7 night Oceania Med cruise a few years ago with no sea days - most exhausting vacation I ever took. Still had a great time and Oceania is fantastic - but boy was I tired every night; really affected my lobster intake each night.
Rare Cruise Junky Posted November 20, 2016 #10 Share Posted November 20, 2016 I'm doing 19 days in 2018. Amsterdam to Rome. No sea days.

PoppyandNana Posted November 21, 2016 #12 Share Posted November 21, 2016 I'm doing 19 days in 2018. Amsterdam to Rome. No sea days. My wife and I are arguing re next years cruises. She wants to go on a ten day with one sea day. I would rather go on a ten day with one PORT day. Been fighting this fight for 19 years. Don't think I could handle 19 port days. More power to you. I definitely prefer port days, but yeah, 19 in a row is going to be tough. But, some are just lovely little towns where we'll wander around, eat and drink. I know I couldn't do ports like Florence, Rome, Naples, etc which are 10 hour tours without a day off
navybankerteacher Posted November 21, 2016 #14 Share Posted November 21, 2016 There are a lot of ten and eleven day Caribbean itineraries from San Juan with no sea days. Frankly, I think the ideal is a trans-Atlantic starting with several Mediterranean ports followed by ten or so days crossing, with perhaps one or two calls in the Canaries, Azores, or Madeira. Too much of either is too much.

But I must say we have never done a port intensive itinerary and really do not know. Enjoy! Our 10 night Med cruise only had 2 sea days (first day out and last day in) and it about did me in. I was sooooooo happy to relax on the TransAtlantic we took immediately afterward.
Rare Keith1010 Posted November 21, 2016 #16 Share Posted November 21, 2016 There are many cruises with no sea days. For example in the Mediterranean. Keith
ducklite Posted November 21, 2016 #17 Share Posted November 21, 2016 The Med B2B we did had one sea day on each leg, which seemed just about right. If I recall, they extended breakfast hours by an extra hour that day because they knew many would be sleeping in. The casino was definitely busiest the night before the sea day when people knew they could sleep in the next morning. Skywench Posted November 21, 2016 #18 Share Posted November 21, 2016 I've done a southern Caribbean cruise several years ago that was seven days out of San Juan with no sea days. Loved it so much, that I did it a few times. I wish there were more like that. I travel and cruise to see different places. Love to wake up somewhere new each morning. jocap Posted November 21, 2016 #19 Share Posted November 21, 2016 Tracyjane- Thomson often do cruises with few sea days- also check out their Norwegian one out of Newcastle. Louis/Celestial cruises from Greek ports do intensive cruises, sometimes two Greek islands in one day... Other lines from the UK to Norway/Baltic sometimes just have a sea day at the beginning and the end Also have a look at the P&O Oceana fly/cruise in the Med... I think it starts in Malta this year- you can do a 7 night leg, or stay on for a different itinerary the following week. Cunard do something similar. GUT2407 Posted November 21, 2016 #21 Share Posted November 21, 2016 It'd depend where in the world you are cruising. None that I've ever seen in Australia, because it's so far between possible ports.
