If they would change just one thing...

change the 1 cruise, regardless of length receives 1 loyalty point

It is ridiculous that 2 one day cruises are rewarded the same as 2 fifteen day cruises. Princess makes a lot more money from the 30 days than the 2 days yet gives out the same 2 loyalty points

I like this idea but can we hold off until I get 3 more points? Then I right there with ya.

Things that keep me from sailing Princess again-

1/ closing the observatory-windowed bar for happy hours only for high level loyalty folks;

2/ refusing to honor reservations in the MDR with a "we don't take reservations" even while holding the list with our reservations (which had been honored both nights previous);

3/ no chairs or sofa in our stateroom; and

4/ plastic plates and glasses in the buffet. I don't use those at home and I don't want to use them at sea.

Also I missed history and travel lectures. And why do they send warm weather ships like the Caribbean Princess on cruises to Scotland? More diversions than art gallery viewings, sales and auctions.

Princess isn't high on my list.

I'll do top 5. Could do more despite the fact that we do love Princess!

1) Update TVs and add on demand programming to all ships.

2) Eliminate the daily gratuity charge and bake it into the cost of the cruise. Pay that additional cost to the staff. Tipping should still be allowed, but voluntary and hopefully for exceptional service. (Note: We pay the autotip and tip extra so we're not tightwads, it's just very misleading to have a charge like this that essentially underrepresents the total cost of the cruise. I feel the same about daily resort fees in Vegas and other places.)

3) Improve Wifi. I'm fine with a charge, but other lines seem to have figured out how to have better Wifi so it isn't something impossible as we are led to believe.

4) Add more electric outlets, preferably bedside.

5) Improve the hairdryers.

Absolutely!!!

RCCL offers fast and reliable internet for $9-15 per day!!!

I am picking RCCL much more often as I can work from a cruise.

Seriously? You are irritated that Princess has a Loyalty lounge for its repeat clientele? Hate to break it to you, but EVERY cruise line has something similar. In fact, while on Royal Caribbean, there are reminders of this all over, special sections by the pool, in the showrooms, entire lounges off limits to those who are not in the club. Never have I felt shut out on Princess. The lounge you reference is open to the general public 99% of the time The Elite lounge function is held for only 2 out of 24 hours.

Okay, the lounge is closed maybe 8% of the day, so it is open 92% of the time

I have never seen paper plates and plasticware at the buffet. 🤣

And there are chairs in every stateroom. Not couches, but there has always been at least one, if not two chairs.

+1. This is why I posted the ridiculous "get rid of traditional dinng". All these types of threads become "me, me, me" posts.

There was a hassock -- no back -- at the dressing table, no chair. I sailed mid-late Aug 2016. Not paper plates; plastic plates. We called them Melmac in the '60s. And the one thing that will keep me off Princess was booting me with a "hurry and finish your drink" because we are only open for platinum or diamond (or something like that). Watching the sea go by with a drink in the observation top deck is always the highlight of my day. We were hardly out of port and I was done.

What would you change? That's the thread - right?

I love your tag line. I love a cat or three or four.[emoji76]

We are on Ruby right now and unfortunately we've heard "no" more than we would expect.

We have sailed the Ruby many times the latest being last month.

Our cruise was excellent as well as the crew.

Not sure what you mean by this.

This is a selfish request. I'd like to see more sales where the single supplement is reduced or eliminated. I love the atmosphere and service of Princess but dislike paying double what others do for the same cruise.

No smoking anywhere would be wonderful for me..but I realize that is unfair. So perhaps a glassed in, well ventilated ares

I agree with penalty for being a singleton. Five of us are traveling to NE/Canada in October in four rooms. The cost was so high for the three single rooms we had to switch to NCL. [emoji20] I would much rather have gone on Princess. (However, the unlimited beverage package for "free" on NCL will help with the pain.)

I would love to see new cruise ships built with TWO casinos - one with great ventilation for smokers and one that is smoke-free. I think they would increase their business enough to make it worthwhile, because I can't be the only passenger avoiding the casino because of the smoke. But I'm also realistic in knowing most gambling smokers are probably going to play longer than the average non-smoker for a variety of reasons so having only non-smoker won't work.

Make anytime dinning what it says, any time, first come first seated, no reservations.

For cruises out of Australia, tipping is included. Probably because Australians are pretty much anti tipping. Yep the price of the cruise goes up, but "we are all happy we don't have to tip".

Several cruise lines have a total ban on smoking in the casinos. They seem to be doing just fine without catering to smokers. They have proven that a fully non-smoking casino is quite workable.

I didn't read the post in question as being critical of ships having a dedicated Loyalty Lounge. I read it as being critical of closing down the entirety of Skywalkers during a prime time when others would want to use it. There is obviously nothing wrong with a ship having a Loyalty Lounge. But wiping Skywalkers off of the deck plan during sunset and afternoon sail away time can be irritating. It is certainly one of my favorite places to take an espresso and snack from the IC to soak in the view and I don't like getting kicked out when I am not bothering anyone and when the private event taking place up there doesn't fill but a quarter to a third of the venue. Besides. This is a "blue sky" thread and there isn't much value in criticizing other peoples' wish lists. They are by nature, personal preferences.

Worst so far (among several) was dinner in the dining room. Ordered a very nice red wine and could not get a red wine glass. First offer was a port glass, then a white wine glass then the head waiter came and told us the true red wine glasses were only for Club Class. We ended up not having wine at all that night.

That is unacceptable. I would have had a few words with the maitre d'... and red wine in a proper glass.

I would have just walked to Vines and got "real" glasses.

There is a very good reason for that. Quite a few people take plates and glasses/cups outside to the pool areas to eat. China and glassware is a major safety hazard around pools.

I've given up and now bring my own. A quick stop off at a Home Goods store or a Bed Bath and Beyond and I can usually find a couple of "odd lot" stems for around $5 per stem and I hand them over to the server at Vines at the end of the cruise. On my last cruise, the MDR staff insisted on taking our glasses to the galley at the end of each dinner to wash and dry them. Here's a photo I took on our last night just before we headed to dinner.

Change their cruises occasionally and go to interesting ports. This is not just a problem w Princess but all of the cruise companies go to the same places and most of the ports they go to are excruciatingly boring.

Before you ask why I cruise, the reason is that on infrequent occasions the companies probably by mistake manage to put together an interesting cruise. It does not happy often but if you search you can actually find interesting cruises.

As for Princess specifically, I absolutely hate MUTTS and that is the reason I have stopped cruising on them. On the first cruise I did with MUTTS, I wanted to replay the Apple Mac commercial and throw something through the screen.
