If they would change just one thing...

Add more free, casual alternative dining venues such as Alfredo's. Alfredo's is a brilliant addition and I would expand the concept to include a Mexican venue and a Chinese venue. Low cost food that shouldn't require a surcharge. Paying for Specialty Dining is fine when the meals are truly special. But simple, casual fare should not require an upcharge and the concept should be expanded beyond pizza. This would help reduce the ATD crunch. Looks like they are on the right track with the changes made to the Caribbean Princess, but they are overreaching when casual alternative dining requires an extra fee. They figured out a way to make Alfredo's an included "waiter service" option. They could do so with other casual fare as well.

I agree, also maybe a sports bar type place. Good burgers, sandwiches and those not so good for you appetizers.

That'll never happen.

Even lines that say "No tipping" certain groups don't seem to be able to restrain themselves.

Wonder what would happen if all passengers withheld their tips????

Maybe cruise lines would pay 'living wage'. Appreciate cruise fares would rise.

For cruises out of Australia, tipping is included. Probably because Australians are pretty much anti tipping. Yep the price of the cruise goes up, but "we are all happy we don't have to tip".

Here's an impossible one. If I book as soon as a cruise opens for sales and I request a table for two in traditional dining, give me the table for two! Yeah, I know. I know. Those are requests only. But it seems to me that if I book way, way early then I ought to get the table for two. DH has a bad back and can't sit the forever it takes for large tables.

In no particular order:

2 - Return to the light bright interiors with floor to ceiling windows with lots of connection to the outside sea. Current Princess interiors are way too dark. Time to completely change the corporate American hotel chain look.

Just like RCI ships. Their DR's put Princess's to shame.

Princess's DR = Like eating in someone's basement. :(

RCI's DR = Like eating in a open air restaurant. :)

This is a selfish request. I'd like to see more sales where the single supplement is reduced or eliminated. I love the atmosphere and service of Princess but dislike paying double what others do for the same cruise.

No smoking anywhere would be wonderful for me..but I realize that is unfair. So perhaps a glassed in, well ventilated are would be preferred in the casino.

I guess that's more than one thing so I'll stop now. ;)

If they would change their alcohol carry-on policy to what it was a few years ago it would make coming back aboard in ports more pleasant. We recently took a river cruise on the Danube. When we reboarded in the different towns, a security person checked our pass, welcomed us back aboard, and offered us a cup of hot gluwein. On Princess, a security person checks our pass, then we must go to an x-ray scanner, empty our pockets of change, place our camera in our bag, and hope that our glasses or pen doesn't trip the metal detector we must then walk through. Even if we have been on the same ship for a month, we get the same treatment. I think that it has little to do with security and much to do about selling more wine on board.

Not much to change, but here:

1) Bring back seafood buffets (although seafood offerings today are nice)

2) Change every ship to have at least one covered pools

3) Bring ship to sail from NY/NJ area to Bermuda and/or Caribbeans year around again

We had a seafood buffet last week on the Crown

Absolutely agree ... and also not allow people with Traditional Dining to have dinner in Anytime Dining.

This would be the one item for us too....."Anytime Dinning" is really "Anything Goes Dinning".....Princess needs to stop the

abuses that they allow to happen with ATD.....

Well, since you asked ... how would this change things in the UK?

Please don't tar everyone with the same brush.

We might disagree with tipping to the extent other countries tip, but that doesn't mean everyone from GB removes gratuities or fails to tip over and above....!!!!!!

1. Build larger dining rooms (I don't think the issue is strictly with Traditional individuals going to Anytime). I don't think they adequately increased the size of the dining rooms when they added additional people to the ships.

2. Covered Pools on all ships

3. Larger entertainment venues - they did not increase size of venues when they added extra people.

4. Bring back longer shows.

5. Bring back menus from 15+ years ago

6. Include promenade deck on all new builds

7. Smaller new builds. This will provide a mix to people who like large and smaller ships

8. Get rid of crazy promos all the time - go with a realistic price to begin with and refundable deposits all the time

9. I admit - I do like Celebrity's and RCCL's open dining rooms better

10. Turn off MUTS during the day or have soothing sea sounds (which they have). I have seen pool areas emptied once Tina Turner is blasted during the day.

11. Include pizzerias on all ships (I prefer the old Sun Class ships menu to the new Alfredos menu but would take either).

12. Go back to the old excursion policy.

13. More soft music (string quartet, piano, etc..) in the atrium than loud music where you can't hear anyone.

Sorry - more then just one  . I guess I liked cruising in the 90's and 2000's.

They could easily include the tips (increase cruise cost) for those in areas that are not used to USA's tipping habits.

I have no issue with the concept of including the cost of the auto tip as part of the cruise cost instead. That's how we treat it anyway. It really doesn't matter if they include it in the price or add it on as the auto tip - I pay it either way. I agree with the rest of the world that the US tipping thing is out of hand.

I agree with you. Most people go with the "When in Rome, do as the Roman's do". I think most travelers look into what is expected for certain things (tipping, etc..) in areas they visit and adapt accordingly. Though - if it makes things easier in certain areas, maybe include tipping. I just want the crew to be adequately compensated for what they do.

Change the name of "Anytime dining" to "Open" dining. Those that think the "anytime" means the waiters are standing around waiting for them to arrive and they should not have to wait to be seated, would maybe understand the concept better.

I think the other person was referring to the free seafood buffet they had on only the first evening in the Horizon. Alaskan crab legs, lobster claws, shrimp.

Today's seafood buffet in the Horizon is $29 & they give you one crab leg per person with 10-12 shrimp. I guess the give you as much corn & hush puppies as you want but no additional sea food. :D
