FLSteve11 Posted June 30, 2017 #101 Share Posted June 30, 2017 Did you ever notice if the sway of someone drunk, offset the sway of the ship and caused a straighter ball? Or did the sways combine to make things worse? Depended which way they were swaying! ;) There is also 2 or 3 lanes, though it is very rare to see more then one in use, so they might just throw it down the wrong lane. :)

PlanetX Posted June 30, 2017 #103 Share Posted June 30, 2017 How about a people mover to get from the front to the back of the ship quickly? Carnival actually had this on the drawing boards for their Pinnacle project (as well as a lazy river that criss-crossed itself several times) that never got built. Check it out in the video here:
Domino D Posted June 30, 2017 #104 Share Posted June 30, 2017 I'm not sure how an observatory would work. Keep in mind the ship is moving, the earth is moving, and the stars are moving. Obviously land-based observatories can handle two of those since their movements are predictable, but the moving ship thing would be pretty much impossible to overcome. Had not thought about that, but I get your point. I would settle for someone knowledgeable just telling me what constellations I'm looking at. We use to have a book, but to your point, it was based on your position and the date.
poncho1973 Posted July 3, 2017 #105 Share Posted July 3, 2017 Reinstate the "Midnight Buffet", but make it a Grand Brunch once per cruise, for Diamonds+, & Suites: Include ice sculptures, carved meat, parade of deserts, high end seafood etc. Also have High Tea in the main dining room, for Emerald+ and JR. Suites and above. Bring back the ship, staffing, dining standards of the 1990's and sell to NCL the Quantum class of vessels. New ships should have a movie theater, like seen on Disney ships. The room service charge, must be abolished for Emerald C&R and above! Bring about Table-side flambee presentation dining, for JR Suites & above and Diamond Plus, Pinnacle. The Table-side presentation will compete with Cunard Club & Grills& Princess Club Class. We need to put this post in an expanded comedy club! I think that they would get a great response to this. The styling of the decorations, ice sculptures, etc would probably need to be different, since daylight would make everything look different, but this would be a welcome addition to a sea day! I like the idea of a Grand Buffet sea-day brunch also. Makes more sense to be midday than at midnight. But it must be something to all guests, IMO, not just top tiers. MrsPete Posted July 3, 2017 #111 Share Posted July 3, 2017 When you're stuck on a ship for sea days, or sometimes even many sea days, you want to find things to do that are out of the ordinary. I don't think you'll find many people on this website who'll complain about being "stuck on a ship". Crewmembers that enforce the 30-minute chair hog rule. Yes, yes, yes! RC, if you're reading, note how many people have commented on this. It's my #1 complaint onboard. Addition of more seafood choices in their buffet. LOVE seafood and would like to see more ... but it seems more realistic in the MDR. Seafood can't sit on a buffet.

On land, the Hotel Galvez in Galveston, TX has an amazing buffet for less than $50 a person. I hope folks do that before paying $99 plus 18% gartutities!:):):);p

RN4Nsy Posted July 3, 2017 #114 Share Posted July 3, 2017 Love the lazy river ( with the drink stations )and snow cone ideas. Smoke free casinos ALL the time not just formal nights. By the way the casinos need new slot machines. 2 weeks ago on the Radiance the 2 new machines were in constant use. Double Diamond and Blazing 7s just don't cut it anymore. barb in ga Posted July 3, 2017 #115 Share Posted July 3, 2017 The Brunch is offered on the cruise planner under entertainment. For our October Oasis cruise, the price is $35/pp. It is billed as the Bottomless Galley Brunch, and includes a galley tour and champagne. I do like the idea of adding snow cones, or even better, shaved ice treats!

CruiseCheapsk8 Posted July 3, 2017 Author #117 Share Posted July 3, 2017 (edited) I don't think you'll find many people on this website who'll complain about being "stuck on a ship". Thank you for catching that. My apologies, that was an extremely poor choice of words. I'd much rather be on a ship than working, no question about that. I am more trying to say having a lot of options is a great thing, in my opinion, and I think RC agrees, which is why they continue to try to innovate like crazy. Fmaclean Posted August 5, 2017 #122 Share Posted August 5, 2017 Agreed....although I will say that on the last sea day on the Liberty in April they were really enforcing it early in the morning. A friend and I were out there very early (for me at least) and there were 2 crew members going around making sure nobody was saving seats. One woman close by was in her seat but had stuff down on multiple chairs next to her. They came around once and told her they would have to come soon, he came back about 20ish minutes later and said she had to remove the belongings because they weren't there. So, there's hope. I will say that they stopped enforcing as the day went on, but at least it prevented people coming in at the crack of dawn and saving seats for the entire day.
