warmwinds Posted December 19, 2017 #26 Share Posted December 19, 2017 I don't have a butler, but am not shy in feeding back! Lol Fortunately Vikka from Russia saved the day this evening. What a delight and it's not hard! Nadia as Michael's hostess is lovely. As I said I'm not demanding, but it's all about the simple stuff. Phil I'm confused...if you're in Michael's, doesn't that mean you are in a suite? And if you're in a suite doesn't that mean you have a butler? (anticipating our first suite stay, still learning). Not sure if this is the case but Captain’s Club Zenith members have access to Michaels and may be in any category Cabin. Also some high rollers in the casino have access. If you are in a suite you always have a Butler and access to Michaels.

warmwinds Posted December 19, 2017 #29 Share Posted December 19, 2017 Oh, ok, makes sense. What type of food do they serve during afternoon tea in Michael's? Is it finger sandwiches or just sweets? And are the sweets like from the buffet or from Al Bacio or something different?
Cruise a holic Posted December 19, 2017 #30 Share Posted December 19, 2017 I've never yet seen a kid in Luminae. Of course, I wouldn't sail at a time when there was the possibility of 500 kids on board either. That was our "dumb luck" Never happened to us either and we have sailed on the Summit for 5 years every August.
Cruise a holic Posted December 19, 2017 #31 Share Posted December 19, 2017 Our experiences in Michael's Club ARE one of the primary reasons we book a suite. The others being the additional space and larger balcony, as the SO enjoys sitting and reading out there. On our last two cruises, the service has been exemplary. Niko on Silhouette and Jole on Equinox were the concierges. We also had Anka as the suite manager on Equinox. We could not have asked for better service or attention to detail. The SO drinks Jameson. I jokingly said to the server, the first evening, if you see him, just hand him a Jameson. You don't have to ask. That is exactly what happened. We walked in the second night, and before we had decided where to sit, the server had his Jameson ready. We like the quiet, laid back atmosphere where we can have a conversation with others, without having to talk over noise and music in a crowded bar. They often have a harpist, guitarist or pianist playing background music. The officers wander thru. This isn't a quick pass thru for a photo op. They sit and talk to you. We spent 45 minutes one night talking to the staff captain. If you are looking for a more upbeat party atmosphere, Michael's is not the venue for you. I know from experience, that, with most having the drink packages, many suite guests do not go there. The crowd in MC tends to be older and more sedate. That may just be because of the times we cruise. As others have said, we don't cruise when the possibility exists for lots of children. As we eat late, if there are young children dining in Luminae, they are gone before we get there. We have seen older children there and they have always been well behaved. We had Jole on the Summit a couple of years ago, she was by far the best Michael's club rep of all! Hope she is on one of our future Celebrity sailings as they move around. An assortment of finger sandwiches and small sweets including scones with clotted cream and jam are served during Tea. The sweets are not from Al Baccio. Owing to health issues (now, thankfully, resolved) our last two cruises have been far more about the ship than itineraries and destinations....Looking back it has been the ‘attention to details’ aspects which have made these Cruises special. We are not demanding either but we do like to be looked after! Have a wonderful cruise!
flyingv4me Posted December 19, 2017 #35 Share Posted December 19, 2017 Jole and Anka are pretty amazing, aren't they. They are great to deal with on any issue, or just to chat with when free. They helped make our Equinox cruise very special.

Be friendly and approachable and I’ll get on with most. I have a long term health issue since I was 24 years old and feel very fortunate to ge able to travel like I do. Nothing taken for granted! Mynki Posted December 19, 2017 #40 Share Posted December 19, 2017 I’m on Connie now. First day and I have to have encountered one of the worst waitresses I’ve ever encountered on a ship and unfortunately she’s in Michael’s. I wouldn’t want to ask her for anything extra having received the response to Stoli Elit vodka. It’s early days and I don’t know if she is cover, but if not I will be feeding back and I am not one to make a fuss. Much like other guests on board a cruise has a lot to do with the people. No bad cruise. Just bad people on it! Phil Last time we had one waiter who'd go anywhere on the ship to get you what you asked for. He was brilliant and set the standard. Sadly he was paired with a waitress that didn't want to get you any beverage that wasn't in MC. Are you experiencing similar by any chance? I don’t really mind what type of cabin I stay in. Just depends. I’ve stayed all over the ship. Just get me on!:) Nearly double Zenith now, but I’ve cruised Azamara a lot too and points are cumulative with Celebrity. I tend to do probably 8-12 cruises a year. $hip$hape Posted December 19, 2017 #42 Share Posted December 19, 2017 The specific beers offered vary ship to ship. Michael's Genuine Pub on Royal Caribbean Cruises... Celebrity or Royal Caribbean? I arrived this morning and asked if they had Stoli Elit and no was the answer. I asked Vikka this evening the same question and said no, but don’t worry she’d source it for me. Not so much the content. I’ll drink Ciroc, but the attitude was so different and simple to achieve. I will remember both interactions! Caribbean Chris Posted December 19, 2017 #45 Share Posted December 19, 2017 My husband loves Michael’s and I must admit that the concierge Sylvia there on Reflection a year ago was absolutely exceptional. She could work in any top tier hotel in the world. Her attention to detail was remarkable. I like Luminae for the peace and space. Celebrity really does make it worth it to spring for a suite. We’ll be on board in two weeks and can’t wait.
