Looking to minimize the amount of cash I carry on my upcoming cruise. Does anyone know if you can charge slot machine charges to your room now? I haven't cruised in a couple of years.

Thanks all.

Yes, when I sailed the Golden Princess 11/11/2016 I had to use my card to play the slot machine. I fluked doubling my money and THAT is MOST unusual for me!

You insert your card into the machine and follow the displayed instructions. HTH.

Yes you can use your cruise card to charge casino play to your on board account. There are no fees. You just insert you cruise card into the slot machine and select the amount you wish to gamble. Then start hitting the button. You can cash out at any time or leave the balance on your cruise card for the next time you play. Remember to cash out by the deadline before you disembark. Otherwise you loose whatever amount is on the card. There is a daily limit, US$1,500/day, and a total limit.

So, am I understanding this correctly....you are not charged on your credit card for a cash advance? So it is better than bringing a debit card and have a $500 per day limit with a $6.50 fee each time you access the machine.

Simple answer is YES. Enough of us do it they find a way to stop but has not happened yet;)

Yes, it goes to your on board folio and gets bundled along with any other room charges made during your cruise. There will be one large "Princess Cruises" amount charged to your credit card at the end of your cruise. Or maybe it will be small if you win in the casino and go to Passenger Services to pay off your balance. It happens. Sometimes....

And not just slots. Same if you play craps, blackjack, Texas hold 'em , etc. Just show your cruise card and tell them how much you want to buy in for. The only difference is if you play Texas Hold em you have to cash that out separately on the last night.

Some people buy On Board Credit in advance & use it for the Casino. Remember you have to have credit on your account to draw from in the Casino thus why people buy credit in advance.

Hi All, I'm not understanding..... You can put cash in but cash does not come out? How do you get your $ if you win?

You cash out to your cruise card and it will stay there until you go to the casino cashier to cash out. You set up your account and create a pin the first time you play. And there is a cashout button on the screen which will transfer the balance on the slot machine to your account.

We didn't have any obc to use on the Regal for the casino. We just showed our cruise card and told them how much we wanted to buy in for if playing table games.

For slots we just scanned out cruise card against the machine and then selected how much money we wanted to use for that machine.

If you're talking about slots you just end your session on that machine and if your ready to get your cash go to the casino cage and give them your cruise card and they will give whatever dollars you having coming.

On the Royal last month, we both played the slots a very little bit one afternoon. When we cashed out, the cashier rounded down and gave us just the whole dollar amounts. I'm not sure if this was a regular procedure or if just a rogue cashier. When I played nearer the end of the cruise and cashed out, I got the change along with my whole dollars, including the little bit of change not given to me earlier.

Wow, can't believe just finding this out. Never played slots except to put $20 in and loose! So, you put your card in like at the checkout and it asks how much? and then to cash out, it gives you actually money?

Tendency to round down until the end of the cruise (Hope you will be back). By the last night they will be returning every penny :-)

I have NEVER seen that done in 42 cruises. I always walk out with change and bills.
