Cruise_Couple Posted February 21, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 21, 2018 I remember we used to get "coupon books" in our cabin when we cruised. Now I see something about "onboard offers loaded onto our seapass card". We are lowly "gold" members (1 point away from platinum, ugh) so my questions are... 1. Do they even do coupon books anymore? 2. Do these offers replace the coupon book? 3. What are these offers? Specifics if available for Gold Members please. 4. How do we know or check what is "on our seapass card"? 5. Does everyone in the cabin get individual offers or is it one set of offers shared by everyone in the cabin (me, wife, 2 teens... all gold members)? Thank you for any insight. Your mileage may vary, and there should be a sheet in your stateroom with details like this of what has been preloaded for gold. These do replace the coupon book (unless yourTA sends you one). Coupon books are no longer used as these on loaded on to each passengers onboard seapass card thus each person get these. bradsnana Posted February 21, 2018 #4 Share Posted February 21, 2018 You have to be diligent, I have noticed on several cruises since they started loading these onto the seapass cards, that the deals aren't always automatically deducted. Especially the drink deals. You might want to mention to the waiter/salesperson/food server that you have a "coupon" on your card you want to use. It came in handy when we went for our free lunch there (Boardwalk room) and had told our 4 yr old we were going for milk shakes to find out milk shakes weren't included. That is what I thought... kind of a bummer to just "lose" a perk because you already gave them your money. Not a big deal... it is just that if you are going to get coupons as a "reward" for your status you should be able to use them or substitute another similar discount in the form of an on-board credit. I totally get the coupons are not really a "reward" but rather a way to get us to buy something we may not otherwise have purchased but it would be nice to have a honest and true coupon/reward benefit program. Perks that truly make people feel special as a repeat customer and are a real value keeps repeat customers while "nickel and diming" customers tends to drive them away. I’m sure there are many people who don’t use a large portion of the coupons (OK I know they’re no longer actual coupons). DH and I have yet to use an internet coupon and don’t care for JR milkshakes so that one goes unused as well. I know there are others. That’s the way it is. Something about a gift horse? Just as an FYI, on Harmony recently at dinner in the Solarium Bistro our waiter put my wife's $18 glass of wine through as a Diamond drink rather than through our package. When he brought the glass back he mentioned that he did that to save us the over $13 charge. Figured he must've done something weird since I'm not sure an $18 glass of wine would qualify as a Diamond drink anyway. When we inquired there about this, we were each given two big gold "coins" and directed to a particular slot machine. Three of the spins came up empty, but on the fourth, my wife won... 15 cents!
