roxmac63 Posted April 20, 2018 #1 Share Posted April 20, 2018 Do they really confiscate your aerosols? Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Krazy Kruizers Posted April 20, 2018 #3 Share Posted April 20, 2018 I have never heard of any cruise line that confiscated any aerosol products.
leaveitallbehind Posted April 20, 2018 #4 Share Posted April 20, 2018 If you are flying to the port, regarding these products, whatever can be transported on board an aircraft can be brought on board the ship. Never heard of hairspray and bug spray not being allowed on board any ship.
cb at sea Posted April 20, 2018 #5 Share Posted April 20, 2018 Of course not!
Kartgv Posted April 20, 2018 #6 Share Posted April 20, 2018 You can even take them on airplanes in limited quantities (think I read 3.4 oz. limit). Where did you hear that you couldn't take them on a cruise ship? I don't think I'd trust any information from whatever source that came from. leaveitallbehind Posted April 21, 2018 #8 Share Posted April 21, 2018 I read it in prohibited items. Sent from my iPhone using Forums Yes, on the prohibited list is aerosol cans. But bug spray and hair spray both are available in non-aerosol containers, so just bring that type of product. It is not the product that is prohibited but that specific type of dispensing system. pacruise804 Posted April 23, 2018 #9 Share Posted April 23, 2018 I read it in prohibited items. Sent from my iPhone using Forums I'm thinking that I read it too for our recent Carnival cruise, but also read something in the contract that indicated it was a different type of aerosol container. We follow cruise guidelines to the best of our ability and had no concern about brining aerosol hairspray or deodorant, and I would have been fine bringing bug spray if we felt it was needed for that trip. evandbob Posted May 6, 2018 #10 Share Posted May 6, 2018 There will be a number of sun loving cruisers spraying their aerosol sun screen on every object within their reach on the Lido and pool areas. Amazing to watch as 90% of the product goes misting in the air, landing on lounges, walking surfaces, drinks and food, etc.
Rare sparks1093 Posted May 7, 2018 #11 Share Posted May 7, 2018 We've brought aerosol sun screen onboard and probably aerosol bug spray too, didn't even know it was on the list. (And I believe they sell aerosol sun screen in the store onboard but I didn't look that closely.)
evandbob Posted May 7, 2018 #12 Share Posted May 7, 2018 There is usually some confusion between what is prohibited on a flight and proscribed items for a ship. The TSA may not allow aerosols on planes due to pressurization issues. Cruise ships have different guidelines. Here's the list of prohibited items for Carnival for example: https://help.carnival.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4090

mikesyl27 Posted May 31, 2018 #14 Share Posted May 31, 2018 This will be our 8th Carnival Cruise in June. I have taken aerosol cans of hair spray and bug spray on each one with no problem. I do however place all my toiletries in my carry on. Mainly cause I do not know when our luggage will be delievered. OCruisers Posted June 1, 2018 #15 Share Posted June 1, 2018 We've never had a problem doing this. :)
Rare MicCanberra Posted June 4, 2018 #16 Share Posted June 4, 2018 It may seem very confusing, but just be aware that if you take an aerosol, it may be confiscated. If you can live with that then you could take the chance.
ricew001 Posted August 17, 2018 #17 Share Posted August 17, 2018 In August of last year on Carnival I had travel sizes of aersol bug spray and sunscreen and it was not an issue at all.
