Do back to back cruisers get to return to their cabins upon re-boarding, please? We get "In Transit" cards on RCI and can return immediately to our cabins and not wait for the announcement that cabins are ready.

Been on a few B2B's and only had to walk off the ship while in port to authorize new card. Had full use of the cabin all day. Later same day room steward returned our prior seapass card to our cabin. When traveling Europe we always do B2B's.

The procedure varies depending on the port (TAP), in some it is necessary to get off the ship and go through immigration and customs, in others it is not necessary to do so. You will receive the instructions in your cabin the night before at the end of the first leg

Even if the main door to the hallway is closed (they are not locked), you are more than likely allowed back into your room. Since all your stuff is in your cabin, your steward will probably have your stateroom door closed and not propped open. Be sure to tell him/her that you would like to return right after you've gone through your in transit process. With the turnaround, they will probably be happy that room won't be on a rushed schedule.

From what I’ve seen only US Ports require everyone to get off the ship. All others portscyou just use your old card to leave the ship and turn around and check in with new card. We’ve always had full use oof our cabin on turn around days.

There will be a meeting the day before last day and I suggest you attend it because you will be given all the information you need. On our B2B we were taken from the theater around 10 a.m. and our sea passes were voided and new ones handed to us at which time we were free to leave the ship. We were in Southampton and spent a wonderful day in that city but we did not HAVE to leave the ship. It is my understanding that our cabins would be unavailable until 1 p.m. but I imagine if you needed something t hey would allow you in. The public areas were all available. When we returned to the ship we reboarded as we did in every other port....no lines, no wait, immigration or customs.

Your room is your room, fully accessible by you. Hall doors are closed, but not locked. Just open and head to your room.

I specifically asked about access to our cabin and was told that b2b cabins are cleaned first and that we would need to push open the doors. Was told this was not a problem since we would be swimming and would need to change. Now I’ve only done b2b out of Europe so this may only be the rules for ships there.

I would not just open the fire doors and push in. Often they are in the hallways spraying disinfectant. Until the rooms are cleared for occupancy, I would stay in the public areas.

We were told that the rooms are ours. They tell you just open the hall doors and go to your cabin.

This is what we were told in May on our B2B.

We had to all disembark in Singapore earlier this year on a back to back. and then had to go through a speedy check in where we were issued with new sea passes.

Our experiences for all of our Celebrity B2B cruise you can go back to your cabin immediately after the B2B procedures are completed. You will also be advised of this by the guest relations manager at the TAD briefing the day before the last day of the first leg. The fire doors have never been locked. We did a B2B cruise on the Equinox March/April 2018 and part of our B2B TAD package was two transit passes. Your name and stateroom number will be listed on it. On the transit pass it also says "your name is a guest in transit on board our vessel". Along with the guest relations manager signature and stamp.

Our experience is different than yours. Our last B2B we had to leave the ship for approx 2 hours before we could reboard and when we were back on the ship the doors to the halls were in fact locked.

The “In Transit” passes are used to get you through the terminal and back on the ship faster. You still have to go through the security checks though. It has no meaning once you are back on board. These are for people who get off the ship for shopping our tours, on tournaround day.

That's also another reason for it. Been there done that. We also had to show the In Transit pass when entering the MDR for our TAD lunch on our last Equinox B2B cruise.

Also FYI Celebrity does give money off for booking a back to back. You must get your cruises linked together and ask for it. We have a 10 day and 11 day booked B2B on Reflection for 2019 and the money off was $100 per sailing applied to your final due amount.

Agree. Every little bit helps.

We did a b2b with a cabin change.

Your steward will move you clothing. The hanging clothes will be placed on a rack. Everything else needs to be in your suitcases which he will also move.

Don't forget to clear out your safe.

We moved to an adjacent cabin so it was really easy. We did move our valuables to the new safe before cabin two was ready. The steward was glad to let us into the new cabin.

Just a note to other posters. As far as I know Puerto Rico is part of the US and we did not have to disembark. The Head of Housekeeping let us pass through the fire door and it was not locked.

Thank you for the response. We too are moving to a cabin just a few doors away. Were you able to get into your second before 1? We’ll be in Hong Kong at this point.

I am glad you have tried to clarify the "In Transit" card. Everyone who is B2B is issued a "In Transit" card whether they leave the ship for the turnaround day or stay onboard. It does not mean that you have immediate access to your stateroom. We have always been able to move our safe contents by about 8:45 AM, and then leave the room until the announcement is made that the rooms are available.
