Red translucent funnel with steakhouse below it No, I've been on the Miracle though, where part of the lowest portion of the funnel is translucent with a steakhouse below it, just like the Splendor, but I was referring to a 100% translucent funnel, top to bottom. THAT would be cool (though impractical).
missholly24 Posted December 6, 2018 #152 Share Posted December 6, 2018 No overcrowding. I'm pretty loyal to Carnival and love reading reviews. (lengthy ones on here, not just ratings). Seems as though newest class of ships has line problems. No one wants to stand in the stereotypical cruise ship lines. Comedy club, buffets, guest services, anytime dining, getting a simple drink at the bar, etc. Lines, lines, lines. Love Conquest, Valor, Victory for this reason. Nice size, no lines. I'm 95% sure Carnival plans to overcrowd the new ships :( Unfortunate.

I believe most lines I have encountered could be fixed with simple process changes vs it being an issue of crowding. Punchliner had lines because it was too small and everyone wanted a seat. Make it bigger. Mongolian Wok has long lines because it is custom made. (I will probably catch heat here) Make it premade Guest services frequently has long lines. This one may be tough. However, I'm sure there are plenty of hub app upgrades that could only help customer self-serve.

lottiegreen56 Posted December 6, 2018 #160 Share Posted December 6, 2018 I'd like a fitness area with a hot tub like the Pride that is included. Hubby would like an Irish Pub. Sons would like a topless area, sportsbook and weed dispensary!

Midwestgal Posted December 6, 2018 #162 Share Posted December 6, 2018 Carnival needs to step up their game besides ship size. Hopefully better entertainment all the way around. I love the oasis class of ship that RC has, what a nice change from Carnivals lame stuff.

Ramps for the handicapped have a certain legally required gradient for safety, so not sure how a suitable ramp could be included in a pool. The closest I can think of, is the Thalossotherapy pool on Carnival Splendor, which has a handrail going down the center of steps. Not quite wheelchair independent access, but the BEST option I have yet seen for independent access. I use a Rollator for mobility and can manage steps firmly clutching the handrail. I've even been known to go down the steps BACKWARDS so if I slip and fall I don't tumble headfirst and knock myself unconscious! My days of climbing ladders to enter and exit a swimming pool are long gone! Re the wheelchair accessible cabins. some specifically for those handicapped personas able to travel independently would be nice, with single pricing instead of a loading for Solo occupancy. I'm planning to do a 4-night round-trip out of Sydney on Carnival Splendor in November 2020. I know Moreton Island is a tender port, and with my Rollator, I might not be able to go ashore. I'll be enjoying the Thalassotherapy pool instead. Hope my spelling's accurate.

They are unique and a marvel of ship building, that is true. That said, I felt something lacking when on Oasis and fear the same thing for this ship. No pun intended, but felt disconnected from the sea. The best way I can describe it the difference it is like flying on a narrow body jet and a 747 or A380. It just didn’t feel like a cruise to you. For that reason, I think you would love to try Princess. As for me, you know my passion for theme parks and hotels so I don’t mind feeling as if I’m on a floating theme park with little to no views of the ocean 😉 Edited December 8, 2018 by xDisconnections
tidecat Posted December 8, 2018 #169 Share Posted December 8, 2018 Sal Pitera did an interview with Cruise Director Chris Williams (The Flying Scotsman), and Chris mentioned that there will be two production casts - he termed one as a "Playlist" cast and one for traditional shows. Given that Mardi Gras doesn't have a dome on the top deck like corporate cousins AIDAnova and Iona, I'm wondering if we'll see one set of shows outside, or if there will be a second interior venue. Gallivanting Souls Posted December 8, 2018 #171 Share Posted December 8, 2018 I would appreciate in no particular order: Hot tubs that are actually hot. More food venues at dinner. Move the casino to an end so that I don't have to walk through it. I hadn't noticed if they did, but if they don't Carnival could have lift's for the wheel chair users that want to enjoy the pools. I have even seen these at some hotels.

I thought I saw a lift on Vista, but not sure (we were staying in Havana cabins so not a ton of time at the main pool. I do agree about the Lido areas, I wish they would go to "station" areas.
