Upsell call- I said yes

I was wait listed for a junior suite on the Mariner of the seas sailing in September, got a call today called back and got it for 200$

 

Also, my mother in law got an email to be waitlisted for upgrade from a junior suite to a better room ( they didn’t say what was it )

That's awesome! I'm on the wait list right now for our Allure sailing for an upsell. I've heard the calls start coming out when you're in the 30 day window. Sounds exactly what happened with you! That gives me hope that I will get the call!!! Have a great time!

For us, unless we get the double points (which you don't if it is a "special" upgrade) not worth it. We are trying to make Pinnacle. So give me the points and I will pay the extra within reason. Otherwise, I will get there the hard way.

The company has not publicly released the criteria for receiving an offer.

But you do need to indicate that you will be interested in accepting an upgrade. I don't remember exactly where it is but somewhere in your listing of personal information there is a place to check this intent. I have received such upgrades at no cost.

Since they "upgraded" the web site I can't find a way to do it.

You now have to call C&A to set your upgrade preferences. However, that does not cover upselling opportunities.

I received an email with a survey asking what I would be willing to pay for a spa balcony. A few weeks later got an email if I wanted a JS additional $400 for my Sept. 9 cruise out of Galveston. We have a ocean view balcony right across the hall from son's family of 4 inside cabin. Because of this arrangement, we declined.

Occasionally the casino does their own upgrades. When we went to check in for our casino provided OV on Adventure we were delayed at check in as they could not find our SeaPasses. They were looking in Deck 3 boxes and the casino had upgraded us to a Deck 8 Balcony. A few extra minutes at check in was not a problem. The unexpected upgrade was very nice. My thoughts run to someone in a casino provided balcony cancelled very close to sailing and we were the fortunate people to get upgraded to their room.

I always had my preference set to no upgrade on the old site and never called to change it. Today I received an email asking if I would be interested in being added to a list for a possible suite upgrade on the Anthem Sept 1 sailing. I joined the list - it will be interesting to see what, if anything, we are offered and at what price.
