Earlier today, October 31, 2018, Celebrity Edge was delivered. On the same day, a ceremony was held for the Keel Laying for the next ship in the Edge class, Celebrity APEX.

Thanks so much for sharing these photos!

I wonder what type of coin Lisa is putting into the container in the keel - U.S., French, or Greek?

Well, now a new thread begins ;-) Doesn't seem 5 minutes since Lloyd started the Edge one !

Here we go again, ready to watch and see what they change from Edge - ha ha

Re the coin -- as Apex seems to be coming to the UK perhaps Lisa may have a British pound coin rather than the French / Greek Euro ;-) :-)

According to the UK website APEX will be available to book on Nov 29th!  Keep an eye out!  The best Edge deals were scooped up on the first day of booking.

Any idea when the first cruise will be that April --- am hoping that it may be our Easter holiday and then we could go (IF it is a short cruise)> I hope that Celebrity check out the school holidays before the make any arrangements ;-)

PS Sorry off topic, please forgive me. Just one question.  Am just curious. If Apex goes from Southampton any gossip about where Silhouette will go from or to? Would love to sail on her again but not to Norway !

Apex sections at the Crist shipyard in Gdynia, Poland.

If the hull section in the middle (to the left of the cherry picker) in the photo above looks familiar, it is the same as the section below belonging to the Edge. Those are Magic Carpet grooves on the left and right.

Lloyd - Thanks for the photo updates. Those Bow and Thruster sections are always amazing to see. It also reminds one how huge these things are.

Lloyd - Sorry I just got on line a few minutes ago and just saw that you were looking for this thread. Thanks again.

It would be nice to get the nice CC folks to move this thread outside of the Edge thread at this point.  It should have its own location on the Celebrity board.

Great Idea..hope moderators  can make the switch..

Or maybe they change ( create) the sub-forum name to Edge Class similar to what was done for Quantum Class ships under Royal Caribbean.

Agree. Maybe once Edge has either its first sailing with pax on the 25th or after the naming ceremony this separate Edge forum can merge in with the regular Celebrity threads and a new separate forum for Apex can start.
