tanzania2015 Posted November 22, 2021 #177 Share Posted November 22, 2021 Date of Cruise: Nov. 4, 2021 Ship: APEX Cabin #: 15104 Deck #: 15 and 16 Cabin Category: Edge Villa Cabin Location: Forward Bed Position: Facing full height windows Balcony Type: Totally private terrace with plunge pool, two loungers, rocking chair and double chair with coffee table. There are lights under the planters that illuminate the terrace a night. If the sun is directly overhead or on the suite's side of the ship, there is no shade but this is only 50% of the time. Balcony/Window Size: 211 sf Balcony/Window View/Obstruction: None Balcony Overhang?: None Magic Carpet Issues?: None Noise Issues?: None Wind Issues?: Yes when underway depending on the speed of ship and direction of the surface wind. The wind was no stronger than the wind on the Retreat Sun Deck. Connecting Cabin? No Where Does it Connect?: NA Suite Details: The two story suite has a master bedroom and bathroom on deck 16 with three hanging clothes closets, a closet with shelves, and lighted vanity cabinet with drawers. The bathroom has plenty of storage, a large tube and large separate rain shower with a handheld spray shower. The main level (deck 15) has a 4 person dining room table, lounge area (hide-a-bed) and second bathroom with a rain shower with a handheld spray shower. There is one hanging clothes closet and copious amounts of cabinet and drawer storage on the main level. Everything is electronic via a control pad or switches. There is a wine refrigerator, a drinks refrigerator, a cartridge coffee maker along with wine and drink glasses, and coffee cups. Advantages/Problems/Comments: The suite has direct access to Retreat Sun Deck from room upper level and direct access to Retreat Lounge via private hallway from room main level. The plunge pool, which has water jets, bubbles, and colored lights, is great for sail-a-ways and after dinner unwinding. The master bedroom is stunning to be able to wake up to views of the ocean. The access to and from the Retreat Sun deck takes a little effort because of the outer storm door has a strong closing spring and some wind forces. Where Does it Connect?: No Suite Details: Very nice, quiet port side well-designed suite, 30 seconds from the elevator walking forward and stairs that go up to Luminae on deck 23. Everything worked, nothing broken, lots of storage. There is a window (which you can close) behind the bed going into the bathroom above the bathroom sink that allows you to see the sea from the sink, shower, and toilet (not if you are in the tub below the shower). Mini-fridge under the desk and big TV, adequate chargers. Wonderful AC, very responsive and quiet. Advantages/Problems/Comments: I loved the bed facing the sea and the option for daylight and sea views in the bathroom. Only minor negatives: the safe was too small for a laptop; the tub was a little shallow (good for entry/exit if you are a little unsteady, but a little limiting for deep soaking); the balcony table was tiny, too small for a breakfast meal Would You Book It Again?: yes

TourDeCruise Posted December 31, 2021 #180 Share Posted December 31, 2021 (edited) Date of Cruise: November 20 & 27, 2021 (B2B) Ship: Apex Cabin #: 9302 Deck #: 9 Cabin Category: A2 Cabin Location: Aft - last aft starboard Aqua Class cabin Bed Position: By closet Balcony Type: Infinite Veranda Balcony/Window Size: Floor to ceiling Balcony/Window View/Obstruction: Could see window washing equipment looking aft (partial obstruction; not a big deal to us) Balcony Overhang?: Yes, Infinite Veranda Magic Carpet Issues?: No Noise Issues?: No Wind Issues?: No Connecting Cabin? Where Does it Connect?: No Suite Details: N/A Advantages/Problems/Comments: Loved the cabin and quiet aft location. Good size bathroom with plenty of storage and liked the sink and spacious shower with Aqua Class shower spray options. Well-designed cabin regarding large-sized tv, electronic charger station, neutral colors, adequate storage space, sitting space, and room to move around. Some people prefer the traditional veranda, but I enjoyed the Infinite Veranda to add space and a small sitting room to the cabin. Dh says he can see advantages to the Infinite Veranda but prefers the traditional veranda. Veranda doors are frosted so you cannot see the ocean view when they are closed. We left the veranda doors open and the veranda window shut most of the time. Of course would have liked the veranda to be bigger, but this was the standard-size veranda unless in a suite or sunset veranda. Would You Book It Again: A big YES. Definitiely! Look4theLight Posted January 17, 2022 #183 Share Posted January 17, 2022 (edited) Date of Cruise: January 2, 2022 Ship: Edge Cabin #: 9181 Deck #: 9 Cabin Category: S2 Cabin Location: Port Forward Bed Position: Closer to interior, on your right as you enter the room, facing the balcony Balcony Type: Traditional Balcony/Window Size: 79 sq ft. Balcony/Window View/Obstruction: None Balcony Overhang?: No Magic Carpet Issues?: N/A Noise Issues?: One very minor one. We were able to hear the thumping bass from the music in The Club late on a few nights, even though it was 4 decks directly below us. Otherwise, it was exceptionally quiet. Wind Issues?: No Connecting Cabin? Where Does it Connect?: No Suite Details: 319 sq ft. Plenty of space to move about. Plenty of storage space. The sofa is a full size pullout that could sleep 2. There was a round coffee table but no rocking chair as pictured in some stock photos and older videos. The bathroom sink has lighting underneath that serves as an excellent nightlight. There is also a vanity with lighted make-up mirror and little stool to sit on. The shower/tub combo was VERY large, the shower had good pressure, and hot water was plentiful. Amenities included robes, slippers, a sewing kit, binoculars, two types of umbrellas, a laundry bag, a shoe shine bag, lip balms, body lotion, shower caps, body wash, shampoo and conditioner, bar soap, q-tips, mini fridge, small safe, daily bottled and canned water, and daily beach towels. We were also provided two Celebrity branded cloth facemasks, two different Celebrity-branded tote bags, and two small bottles of hand sanitizer. Advantages/Problems/Comments: Our Retreat Personal Host Rene and our stateroom attendant Joy were fantastic. They made sure we didn't want for anything and were always visible in the hallways to greet us by name and wish us a good morning/good evening. We utilized Retreat access more than we thought we would and could easily have experienced nearly the entire cruise without leaving that area. Would You Book It Again?: I would book the same room type but not this location. Personally I would need something farther away from The Club. Ginnyfyr Posted February 12, 2022 #185 Share Posted February 12, 2022 Date of cruise: Jan 30/22Ship: EdgeCabin #: 11268Deck: 11Cabin category: S1 Cabin location: completely aft Bed position: next to closet/bathroom Balcony type: traditional, quite large Balcony/window view/obstruction: no obstruction; floor to ceiling windows/sliding door Balcony overhang: about 3/4 covered Magic carpet issues: none Noise issues: none Wind issues: none Connecting cabin: no Suite details: this large, aft Sky Suite was fantastic. Very quiet location with cabins above and below. Lots of storage space, desk space for the odd time I had to do some work, good sized coffee table for when we ordered room service (though it was a smidge low). 2 loungers, 2 deck chairs, and a small coffee table on the generously sized balcony. Fantastic location - just 2 floors up to the Oceanview cafe and 3 floors up and all the way forward to the Retreat Lounge. For us, it was just far enough away from everything to force us to get in our daily steps. Bathroom was huge - 4 people easily could have been getting ready in there at the same time with room to spare. Plenty of plugs between the "box" on the dresser and another socket next to the bed, plus a couple of USB ports. Advantages/problems/comments: A teeny tiny bit of soot on the balcony. My only complaint about the cabin layout was that if the cupboard door next to the bathroom was open, there was no room to get past it - you'd have to climb over the bed (really the most first world problem I can think of!)Would you book it again? Absolutely!

NOISE WAS FROM STEPS ,STOMPS AND BANGS FROM ABOVE MAYBE. WORSE IN MORNINGS, SOMETIMES SOUNDED LIKE SOMEONE DOING JUMPING JACKS. ONE NIGHT LOUD BANGING IN WALL EARLY IN AM. DOOR TO THE BATHROOM SLAMMED EVERY TIME IF YOU DIDN'T PUT A TOWEL THROUGH THE HANDLE. Wind Issues?: NONE Connecting Cabin? Where Does it Connect?: INSIDE CABIN CONNECTED BY AN INTERIOR HALL. THIS DID NOT CAUSE A LOT OF NOISE (SOME DOOR SHUTTING SOUNDS) BUT WE THOUGHT IT MADE OUR ROOM SMALLER AND IT MADE US HAVE TO OPEN TWO DOORS TO GET INTO OUR ROOM. THIS WAS A PROBLEM WHEN FRIENDS CAME TO THE CABIN BECAUSE WE COULD NOT HEAR THEM KNOCK ON THE OUTER DOOR FROM INSIDE OUR CABIN. Suite Details: FULL BALCONY VIEW WAS GREAT WHEN YOU ENTERED. HARD 3/4 SOFA WITH A BUNCH OF PILLOWS. COMFORTABLE BED WAS SIDEWAYS TO THE BALCONY NOT FACING IT. AUTOMATIC LIGHTS AND BLINDS AND BEST CLIMATE CONTROL WE HAVE EVER HAD ON A SHIP. Advantages/Problems/Comments: WE LIKED THIS ROOM ESPECIALLY THE BIG BALCONY BUT THERE WERE A FEW PROBLEMS WITH IT. THE CLOSET WAS SMALL AND HARD TO GET INTO BECAUSE IT WAS TOO CLOSE TO THE BED AND ONLY THE FRONT HALF OPENED. THERE WAS A STATIONARY RACK HALFWAY DOWN THAT DID NOT MOVE THAT WAS IN THE WAY OF HANGING ANYTHING BUT A VERY SHORT BLOUSE WITHOUT WRINKLING IT. IN MOST CLOSETS THIS HALF RACK FOLDS UP IF YOU NEED TO HANG LONGER ITEMS BUT HERE IT WAS SOLIDLY IN THE WAY BLOCKING THE BEST HALF OF THE CLOSET . WE DIDN'T LIKE THE SMALL DESK AND WOULD HAVE LIKED SOME LARGER SHELVES AND A MIRROR THAT ADJUSTED UPWARD AT THE DRESSING TABLE BUT THOSE WERE SMALL ISSUES. THE BATH ROOM WAS NICE, WE LIKED HAVING A DOOR ON THE TOILET AREA. COMPARED TO THE SKY SUITES ON "S" CLASS WE THOUGHT THIS ONE HAD LESS STORAGE AND FUNCTIONALITY. THE BATHROOM WAS NICER HERE THAN S CLASS BUT I MISSED THE DEEPER TUB. Would You Book It Again?: I THINK NEXT TIME WE WOULD BOOK AN S2 BECAUSE OF THE CLOSET. OUR BALCONY WAS BIGGER THAN IN AN S2 SO IT WOULD BE A CLOSE CALL. Photos or Photo Links:

When ship sways the hangers can bang against each other to create banging noise. Resolved by pushing the hangers together so they don't bang against each other. Wind Issues?: Windy on balcony when sailing Connecting Cabin? Where Does it Connect?: None Suite Details: 2-story suite. Beautiful and luxurious. Full bathroom downstairs with living room. Two mini-fridges that are stocked daily with whatever drinks are desired. Espresso machine. Large dining table. Jetted hot tub and large balcony. Room steward will fill hot tub upon request. Lovely to grab cocktails from the Retreat sundeck bar that's right outside our suite and hang out on our own private hot tub and enjoy the beautiful view. Bedroom upstairs with master bath. Advantages/Problems/Comments: First floor door leads to a side door directly to the Retreat lounge. Second floor door leads to Retreat sundeck. Very easy to pop into the lounge to grab drinks/snacks, and to pop into the sundeck to grab cocktails. 2-story setup provides a nice roomy feeling, like living in a condo. HOWEVER, climbing up and down the steps multiple times a day did get a bit old. Would You Book It Again?: Yes.

Rblum100 Posted June 18, 2022 #199 Share Posted June 18, 2022 10126 the pluses. The new veranda design is great. It provides more useable space when open. The sliding exterior glass is nice for just the right amount of cabin ventilation. A+ on that design element. a desktop that can disappear is also a nice element. a minus. The drawers are smaller. This sounds like no big deal, but for us it is inconvenient. I use travel cubes to pack shirts and slacks…. These cubes are too large for use in Apex’s drawers. Too bad as I now have to unpack and repack my clothing rather than plopping a travel cube in a drawer. The result for me is more wrinkles.
