Diamond 3 drinks on card

Just got off the Serenade and if we tried to get a Manhattan from a bar and not the Diamond Lounge, they said it would be 2 swipes of the card.  We were not happy and finally found a bar in the casino that didn't swipe our card twice.  Has anyone else have this happen to them?  BTW there  were over 500 Diamonds and Diamond+ on board so the first few nights it was hard to even get into the Diamond lounge.

Well, just a few weeks back I saw people getting Long Island Iced Teas as their Diamond drink while at various bars on both Harmony and Allure. Normal or not, I couldn't say, but the people came up, asked, and got it. I'd generally have guessed the asking part is some indication that it might not be normal. Maybe the bartenders were just having a nice day. 🙂

DH got many LI Iced Teas on Allure last month.  Only one swipe (imagine how many swipes that would be).

I had Manhattans also one swipe.:classic_biggrin:

Just got off Symphony and the card was swiped once or twice for The whole 12 nights, I was way over the 3 drink limit many times at the bars.  They used top shelf liquor at the Wonderland bar for Martinis, the bartender looked at the card and never swiped it. We were seated in the Specialty Restaurants  a little after happy hour and were still allowed to get a diamond drink. The most consistent thing about Royal is there total inconsistency.

Is Long Island Iced Tea on the Diamond drinks menu?  If not, it probably shouldn't be served at bars on the ship using your 3 seapass vouchers?

Liquor brands are listed on the menu, not drinks you can make with them.

LIIT is usually one swipe.

If you have a deluxe drink package would they refuse to make you this drink because you can't order doubles or get two drinks at once using the deluxe package?

Interesting, I get double gin and tonic on the deluxe package all the time.

They will normally give you doubles with the beverage package, and sometimes they ask if I would like a double.

I believe they are talking about the 3 Diamond drinks that are loaded on the seapass to be used at  bars outside the Diamond Lounge.  If you wanted a double, they would swipe it twice.

I would think with one Long Island Iced Tea with multiple liquors they would swipe the card 3 times.

A Long Island Iced Tea can be made using essentially the same total amount of liquor as any other drink, or at least close enough to the normal variation you might find in drinks in the same price groupings, including a Manhattan. There's no reason to need to double-swipe a card to use two drink credits to make these drinks, unless someone simply wants a double amount of them in the same glass.
