Sandy1975 Posted January 25, 2019 #352 Share Posted January 25, 2019 VT, another amazing review! Question about cabin location. In post 339 you show room 11215. I switched to room 10213, which based on my study of pics and plans, is the last cabin on the section that bumps out. I am thinking that besides looking down, there will not be any obstructions. Is that correct? I am just a bit paranoid because someone on FB said it was obstructed by window washer equipment. Will you be able to confirm that it is unobstructed? Sorry if question has an obvious answer but I switched from another room to this one and now I am second guessing! Thanks!

My wife will love the table maze:) I was talking to someone today and even though I followed the build process and the live reports, sailing a new line and new ship has a similar excitement and what have I gotten myself into feeling as our first cruise:)

We are going on b2b in april and we booked as soon as it was possible. We have stateroom 6115 and when we booked it was not marked as obstructed, but no it is. Have you been to any of the deluxe veranda stateroom on deck 6 during a cabin crawl?

The officer's party was not on Chic night. That is tonight. It is lovely in Grand Cayman today - sunny and no wind. I plan to enjoy the RTG and MC while it is calm. This is my view from the balcony: Empress of the Seas - we have so many good memories of that ship!! Our first Royal cruise - we sailed her when she was shiny and new. 🙂

I haven't been in one, but saw some good pictures of one. The balcony is smallish and the opening is round so not a full view, but you will have a space to go outside and the cabin itself is pretty much the same as the IV's - really nice cabins with lovely bathrooms and bigger shower. Hope you will enjoy it! The stateroom itself looks great, so that will not be the problem;) Have a great journey back to Ft. Lauderdale😎
Rare MVPinBoynton Posted January 25, 2019 #365 Share Posted January 25, 2019 Marilyn, Have you run into any folks that got a great deal on their cruise because they were gamblers? We met two separate couples in different dining rooms that were offered Oceanview cabins for $212 pp 3 weeks before the cruise. They obviously took it. It made me think that perhaps I need to start gambling on cruise ships. I was shocked that they would price the cabins that low.

I dozed in and out - a lovely feeling. hcat's couch is looking better and better!! I haven't seen the Edge Launches go by yet - Damian announced last night about using GC tenders because they can hold a lot more people. I'll watch to see if they use both. I'm glad we got a tender ride in November to see what the launches were like. We do love using the DG (Destination Gateway) for non-tender ports - very easy and comfortable way to return (with bathrooms there). There is a secret stairway to the Martini Bar from DG (with flying birds lining the walls of the stairwell), so if you return and can't wait for a drink....😉

We have a couple on our roll call who got an incredible deal on their cabin because they are high rollers. I didn't ask how much, but I'm sure Henry did 😉, so I'll see if he knows what they paid. I guess I should go back to the Casino tonight, though Wonder Woman has been very stingy to me this time!! 😊

vtcruising Posted January 25, 2019 Author #375 Share Posted January 25, 2019 (edited) Yesterday we were in Cozumel and did our Chef's Market Tour. We had a quick continental breakfast on the outside deck in the Retreat Lounge. It was empty again and we enjoyed a nice quiet breakfast overlooking the ocean. After breakfast, we headed for the end of the pier and were met by Adrian, our tour leader. He was a great tour guide for our small group of 19. We were in a good-sized, comfy bus so went from place to place in comfort. Adrian talked about Cozumel, the history, culture, food, etc. and discussed the island's complete dependence on the mainland for food, electricity and pretty much everything, while we went to each place. He made it all very interesting. We first went to the chocolate factory and learned about chocolate's discovery and the importance in the health and culture of the people (the food of the gods). We first had to be cleansed before entering by an actual priest (notice the parrot who interrupted Adrian all the time, but not the priest): (Adrian is on the right) Cocao beans: This fun guy showed us how to make chocolate (Adrian's BIL): Jazzbeau found this in the gift shop - we almost bought it to place in the Retreat, but reluctantly left it behind.😎 Edited January 25, 2019 by vtcruising
