About an hour ago she moved to the Columbus Kaje Cruise Terminal. A much better position for photos.

Apparently while the Odyssey of the Seas was docked at the container terminal, satellite systems and parts of the chimney were installed.

Not so good news are coming in from Bremerhaven... Nord24 reports that 2 rapid antigen tests have been positive upon arrival at Bremerhaven and now there are 20 people in quarantine (out of app. 1000 onboard). It´s not yet clear whether the ship will leave on sea trials today.

I just saw this on Nord24.de
A future crew member who got news from those on board brought the situation to my attention last Friday. At the time there were 15 people he said.

Oh man ... the industry just can't catch a break! 😔 Hopefully everyone on board will be okay.

It sounds like it was a smart decision to schedule the first cruises roughly two months after the expected delivery! With any luck, that will provide enough cushion to accommodate delays like this.

Seems like the 2 were in contact with a person in Papenburg who later was tested positive.

She was supposed to go in sea trials today but stays in Bremerhaven. She pretty likely won't leave this weekend either.

Statement RCI provided to media inquiry Sunday night:

"As part of the stringent protocols put in place by the shipyard, all shipyard workers and crewmembers must receive a negative PCR test result before boarding. Once on board, the ship conducts daily testing. This process allowed Meyer Werft to detect any possible COVID-19 cases and take the necessary measures to contain the spread of the virus.

"Earlier this week, six shipyard workers were identified after a positive test and they were immediately quarantined land side. At this time, there are no positive cases onboard."

Wow, the numbers do vary... NDR announced 5 more people have been tested positive - but I assume that´s a mistake so it´s more a total of 5. RCI states 6...

Anyway latest news... the ship is cleared by the authorities. Sea trials are pretty likely to start somewhen on the weekend (which can include Friday, Saturday or Sunday).

She´s finally leaving for the sea trials tomorrow evening - no exact time given - press release by Meyer Werft.

That is good news. Thanks for sharing the link to the press release. Great that they are doing every they can for the health and safety of all the teams.
