Breakfast Baked Beans

I have noticed baked beans on the breakfast buffet on every single cruise I've been on.  I never knew this was a thing.  Where is it from?  Just wondering.

I know they do baked beans for breakfast in The United Kingdom and South Africa

I'm not sure, but my father used to tell us that they were served at breakfast every day when he was in the Navy during WW II.  Beans are inexpensive, filling and high in fiber.

I can confirm that baked beans are indeed very popular with a “fried breakfast” in the UK, along with (Canadian style) bacon, egg, sausages, tomato, mushrooms, black pudding and toast

Also known as a Fry-up or an All-day breakfast. This was the only thing my grandfather knew how to cook 😄 I cook one up every so often when I'm feeling nostalgic.

Kimd of like Liver Pudding or Scrapple. Where I live we have Goetta, no blood, pin head oats, pork and seasonings.

Beans on toast is common in Ireland too. I in fact just had beans on toast for my breakfast ☺️

Our friend from Virginia eats those baked beans every morning at breakfast.  I had never heard of it, but that's the first thing he looks for.

I rarely eat beans so I don't particularly notice them in the buffet, but we went to an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast fundraiser that included beans as one of the sides.

Reminds me of my childhood we said fart but only when mom wasn’t around because that was a bad word and we would get it for saying fart. Lol to this day I would never say that in front of her and I’m 45.  Still scared of my momma.  If that was a bad word you can only imagine how bad real bad words were to her

I live in New England. Baked beans at breakfast is common around here.

Having travelled to England several times I learned that I like beans for breakfast. It is now one of the things I look forward to when I go on a cruise.

They are common in Australia as well for breakfast.  I was introduced to it there initially and then UK.  I'm very picky about sausage & bacon and usually places in Europe or on cruises don't cook them in a way that I can eat; so, it it nice to have another option that has some protein.

I have never cared for English breakfast choices. I am fond of the Southern breakfast with grits and biscuits but unfortunately the Carnival cooks have not mastered these foods.

I was waiting for someone to mention this. DH is from MA. We used to spend summers in  ME and I remember baked beans offered at breakfast much of the time. That is a good memory.
