We've done

16.00 to enter

Dollar machine with max bet as 3

Each person gets 5 pulls = 15.00

The Extra dollar we put aside in an envelope

We keep a list of participants and write down how much they made $$ for the group

The person making the most money gets the extra dollar envelope

We've done it where the winnings are split equally among all entrants with the exception that the person who had the biggest jackpot gets the "extra" (not equally divisible amount) added onto their share.

That's what I meant

The winnings are split and the extra in the envelope goes to the person who made us the most.

I should have been more clear.

I have done many Slot Pulls. Here’s what I do. I first investigate the casino & look for the $1 Wheel of Fortune slot machine. Most machines give you the best chances with $3 per pull. I have people put in $15 so they get 5 pulls. If they get right combinations the Wheel of fortune wheel will spin on the top. You get the most chances for your money.

Having $1 extra is a good idea.

Close but not quite the same. We didn't have a separate envelope with an extra dollar per person. We all put in the same amount but, when we split the "take" if it didn't come out even the person with the highest "winnings" on their pull got the extra. I think out of the 3 pulls we had I "made" a dollar, "lost" a dollar, and came out even. The person with the highest "win" got whatever didn't fit into the even split. I think the last one of the three pulls that person got her even split plus something like $37. None of us hit a big one on any of the three slot pulls during the cruise. (28 day cruise so we had plenty of sea days to do it three times.)

With the $1 opinion at least someone got something. I’ve had many slot pulls where nobody got anything so with the extra $1 at least someone gets something.

Oh, believe me... I'm not saying one is better than the other! I was just saying how it was done on one particular cruise. I signed up for one that turned out to be one of the "beat the machine for the allotted number of seconds". Totally bizarre. One woman totally pounded on the poor machine for her allotted time. I "got" to do it twice because others started beating on the button prematurely and I saw it and started in as well. I was utterly clueless. The "moderator" (??) said for everybody to stop as they had jumped the gun. Sadly, I had hit a very good payout but it didn't count. Whatever. I would never have participated had I known it was that sort of thing. I have no problem kicking in my $5 or $20 for a regular slot pull. If I win (not likely) that will be cool. If I lose (very likely) I don't mind too much as I have participated with others from my roll call and we all took a shot at it. Who knows... Sometimes people win.

I’m new at setting one of these up. But quite a few cc members want to do it on our 7 day sailing.  We have the meet and Mingle set up on the first Sea day.  We only have one other Sea day. Is that when you would normally hold the slot pull?  Is there a “normal” time for it?

All of ours have been done on a sea day.  I generally remember them being late morning.

On all the cruises we have been on, we have done the slot pull on the first sea day immediately after the Meet & Greet.

We usually do as Thrak was trying to explain.  When you divide the money left after everyone has there pulls, it will undoubtedly come up to a certain amount of dollars and cents.   We then pay everyone the dollar amount and the one who won the most money will get their dollar amount plus all the excess cents.  That way, you do not have to have a lot of change to pay everyone.

On our last cruise, on a Wheel of Fortune machine I was the high winner because I hit the Wheel of Fortune for $100.00

Woodside Lady,

if you email me at trbarton743 at aol dot com & put “Slot Pull Information” In the subject line I’ll send you a copy of Instructions to use plus a copy of the flyer that I’ve sent to people for my next cruise on the Majestic. My instructions we given to me by another person on CC & I take them on my cruise & read some of the instructions to everyone there so I’m always glad to share what I have & my experiences.

Yes...I would do it on the 2nd sea day.

I just emailed everyone on my slot pull coming up & asked everyone to bring an extra $1 to use at the end as sometimes we didn’t win anything so this way somebody gets something. If everyone shows up for my slot pull we'll at least have around $20 for the person that won the most of their turn.

All of my tournments have have been on a sea day at 1:30 in the afternoon.

Do we have a date or time for the slot pull?  We are open to anything, but the latest I've heard is Monday, April 8th at 11.  And... I voted for $15/person but am just as happy with $20/person.  We need to win some money so we can spend it on drinks watching the NCAA basketball finals that night.

I'll go with the majority and post on our roll call.

For us, personally, we'll show up for slot pull in the morning, but by afternoon, we'll be comfy in a chaise and won't bother to go.

If someone else wants to orchestrate the slot pull, GREAT!  If not I'll so $20pp, four $5 pulls @ 11am Monday April 8th.

This is how I have organized slot pulls for last four cruises.  No one ever wins BIG, but big winner can end up with an extra few dollars.

I have done many slot pulls.  Here's what I have done/do.  I find the Wheel of Fortune $1 machine with the wheel on the top.  Everyone puts in $15 & for that amount & each person gets 5 spins & if you get the right combination you get to spin the wheel at the top.

I have information/instructions plus templates that I use, flyer, that I'm willing to share with anyone that could use them.

Email me at trbarton743@aol.com & put Slot Pull in the subject title & I'll send you what I have.

Slots are a looser any where  . Recommend doing a craps roll .Get 20  people & put in $20 pp  .Take the $400 & buy chips . Let people roll  the dice & some one who knows the game well should make all the bets except the pass line & the behind the pass line odds .you will ultimately come out better with good money management .JMHO

Yeah, right. And the Queen of England is your cruising companion.

Like your other post regarding gambling, I call BS on this one too.

I have another suggestion that I used on my last cruise. I had an envelope where everyone put in $1 so no matter what happens on the machine at least one person wins something. Sometimes the casino will give us something that we can use.
