Leaving Ship Mid-Cruise

Recommended Posts

What are the particulars on this?

Asking for two reasons.

Have some friends getting married in Italy, and we're thinking of mixing in a cruise with the wedding.   The wedding location happens to be about 35 mins from Civitavecchia, which is a stop on Day 6 on the sailing.   We were wondering could we get off there with all our stuff, and skip the last sea  day and return to Barcelona.   Because if we stayed on all we would do is have a sea day and then fly from Barcelona right back to Italy.   Can I get off mid cruise?

Also since we're within spitting distance of the next tier up on C&A, if we did get off early, would we get points for the whole voyage..... just curious what the CC braintrust may know on this...

Yes , we have departed Mariner in Crete , port before Barcelona and stayed for a week . BEAUTIFUL. been to Barcelona many times . It's  a $65 processing fee per booking and is requested before you sail. Other methods are party really hard and do stupid  things they will also depart you ☺

This happened on the Freedom of the Seas just last week, although they apparently didm't tell anyone from RCCL they were leaving.  The Captain waited to see if they would show up but, rumor was, when the crew went to check their cabin to see if they were there, everything had been packed up and the room was vacated.  We speculated they either 1) got sick and didn't want to continue, 2) had a fight or 3) one of them messed around on the other and they couldn't take it any longer, but then only one person would probably have left instead of both.

I am not sure of the order of things.... But I knew a woman who took a cruise and was going to get off at the last port for her daughter's wedding in the Bahamas. Unfortunately we missed that port, NCL said it was because the port messed up the paperwork. The woman missed her daughter's wedding.

Just requested this last month. There is a special form that needs to be filled out and emailed to Emergency Travel Team AirSeaGFO@rccl.com. It took about a week to get a response. And as noted there was a $65 charge per booking.

Am I the only one who snickered at the GFO acronym in that email address?

(Yes, I have the mentality of a 12yo boy sometimes.)

If you go for option 2 do they still charge the $65.

Option 2 is fee free , see RCL still has free things , but now the cat is out of the bag they will introduce a partying too hard fee . 😂

The PTH Fee is a once in a lifetime opportunity  ☺

Just did this today on Ovation. Disembarked one day earlier on day 7 in Victoria instead of day 8 at Seattle.  Wanted to make sure we got on the Radiance for a northbound Alaska cruise.  I informed concierge onboard.  She got approval from the higher ups and was granted early disembarkation.  This morning, went to guest services to settle account and get a settled account card to show to ship security.  Allowed off ship and Canadian authorities were notified earlier that we are staying in Canada.  Answered a few questions by the authorities in Victoria and we went on our way.

Had a lovely dinner with a fellow cruise critic member in Vancouver and am now writing this from the Marriott pinnacle hotel.  Will be boarding our cruise tomorrow morning at Canada Place about a 5 min walk away.
