pgerbphoto Posted September 1, 2019 #1 Share Posted September 1, 2019 We are having trouble finding a returning flight for our booked cruise. The ship docks at Port Canaveral at 7am. The flight we're looking at is a 10:55am out of Orlando. I know it's pushing it (and that there's no guarantee), but wanted to hear your opinion on what you think the chances are that we could make it...or if any of you have made (or missed) any similar morning flights like this. Thanks everyone!
matj2000 Posted September 1, 2019 #2 Share Posted September 1, 2019 (edited) If you do the early self debarkation and have your ride near ready to go, it should be no problem. I can make it work, But I can move quickly... Edited September 1, 2019 by matj2000
donnaw Posted September 1, 2019 #3 Share Posted September 1, 2019 Under the best conditions it is 45 minutes from the port to MCO. If I had private transportation arranged in advance, I would take the flight.

Thanks everyone! I would not do it unless I was going to be first in the self-assist line (line up about an hour before scheduled arrival) and had private transportation arranged. Greenytiger Posted September 1, 2019 #8 Share Posted September 1, 2019 I’m looking at an 11:30 am flight out of mco. Really torn about it, it’s much cheaper than anything between 1pm and 8pm but it might be too early

Just make sure you are on your non-stop transportation to MCO by 8am and you should be fine.
yogimax Posted September 1, 2019 #10 Share Posted September 1, 2019 Just remember the TSA lines at MCO can be long.
S.A.M.J.R. Posted September 1, 2019 #11 Share Posted September 1, 2019 Don't forget to look at Melbourne and Daytona as possible departure points. A little further away (Daytona is extra 15 minutes, Melbourne is same time) than MCO, but smaller airports means easier TSA, and not as many fliers. smplybcause Posted September 1, 2019 #12 Share Posted September 1, 2019 What day of the week? If it's a weekday you'll be with all the rush hour traffic. Even though it's a straight shot to the airport, there's lots of people commuting on that road to work.

JTBCruiser Posted October 21, 2019 #15 Share Posted October 21, 2019 Too tight for us. I don't want to take an enjoyable cruise then stress out trying to get a flight home with a chance of missing it. On our upcoming cruise in less than 3 weeks, we just decided to stay in a nearby hotel and fly out the following morning. Yes it cost a bit extra but the stress of missing a flight is not worth it. Hope everything lines up in your favor and you get out on time.
