Formal nights on Symphony

Hi all

Does anyone know which nights are formal on Symphony Western route?

Also, do specialty restaurants require formal attire on formal nights?

We never dressed formal on formal nights and on all our past oasis class ship cruises, wore smart casual at all the specialty restaurants and rarely saw anybody there dressed up formal.

I haven't sailed on Symphony yet, but on Allure and Harmony on formal nights most men had on at least dress pants and dress shirts.  We did see one family who had on shorts, but they were a large group and they were all in very casual outfits. (Running shorts and tees.)

 

We did see some men in suits as well and ladies dressed up with them.   I guess it depends upon the crowds on the ship how people dress.

Neither specialty restaurants or the MDR require formal wear on forums night.

The specialty restaurants have no requirements for formal wear. And, formal nights are no longer "enforced" people wear what they want these days.

On Harmony, one of the formal nights was also Mexican night / chocolate night at the Windjammer.  That was way better than what we had at Sabor.    

 

You might want to check if Symphony does something similar.

I read that Royal Caribbean formal nights are now referred to as "dress your best". Formal attire is not required.

Royal does not enforce much of anything with regard to dress anymore.  Really does not matter label is attached to the dress suggestion.

I can confirm having been on the Western itinerary last month that formal nights were Night 2 and Night 6.

We were on her a few weeks ago. Dress code is anything you want. They do have 2 formal nights (suggested)

 Many were dressed smart casual, but shorts, t-shirts etc were everywhere. They don't enforce dress code any longer.

I think you’ll get more finger wagging on these forums than you will onboard if you don’t dress for formal night.

I dress for work 5 days a week. When I board that ship I am officially on vacay. No heels, suits, dresses and a bare minimum of makeup!
