New Princess Cruise Search Page

I really dislike the new search page on Princess.com 

 

Does anyone know how you can now search for voyages that call on a specific port? There is the start/finish option but little more now it appears.

I cleared my browsing history and got the old version back, was so excited!  Then I recently did a Dell update and got the crappy version back.  I'll have to clear history again and see if I get the better vision back.

If u go to Destinations on the Home page, then select Ports of Call, u will find specific ports. Not very convenient  !!!!

Someone posted a link for the old page a couple of months ago. It works!!

Unfortunately, I can't see it right now. The computer that it's on is crossing the Pacific. When I get the computer, I'll try to find it and repost it.

Ditto - don't like the new page. Don't need photos of destinations, words are fine. Why keep changing, that's my question?

I don't care for the search within Princess, so I always use outside searches. (other sites)

It sounds as if Princess have changed their page in North America.  I wonder how long it will be till the same thing happens in Australasia!!

Yes the one you apparently still have down under is the one we just lost. Now you can’t search for port cities on the search page but it appears there’s a clumsy back door way to do it from the destinations section of the site. 

 

Why on earth they would take that away is beyond me. The capability is obviously still there but not nearly as easy to get to.

Some of us really want to go to specific ports and the old system was really good for finding cruises that went to Riga and/or Klaipeda as examples.   Easy the old way.

At the bottom of https://www.princess.com/cruise-search/cruises

is a button for "Site Feedback". I gave them a rating of 0 and select "Website Problem" to give them more information about what is wrong with https://www.princess.com/cruise-search/cruises

It's a workaround, but you can go to Cruisetimetables.com and search by Departure Ports, Ports of Call, or Cruise ship. Good research site.

I think the two worst features of the new search interface are:

 

1.  On the initial search, you create a short list by using date range, area of world, etc.  Now you "dive" into one of those cruises and look into pricing, cabin availability, itinerary details, etc.  Now you want to back out from that to the list.  Nope.  Once you back out, the filters are lost somehow and all Princess voyages show and have to re-enter search criteria.  IMO, this is the worst thing by far.

 

2.  No filter by port of call.

 

Otherwise, it works okay, even if it's a bit klugy with photos and entering the search options.  Not nearly as efficient and user-friendly as the previous version.  Seems like Princess wanted to glitz it up some.  I noticed pretty much the same search interface on HAL site.
