Thanks for the photos! Future updates will be appreciated. Scheduled to sail her on October 22! 🤞🏼

Yes, updates are really appreciated.  We sailed the Escape for our honeymoon in 2017.  She is a little extra special to us for that reason.  We finally are going to be able to get back on her Nov 2022 for Thanksgiving.  So I am very interested to see what or if anything changes.

They may be installing the new EPA compliant  exhaust scrubbers in the stacks like they did for BA and GA. They had to remove the ropes course entirely to install the redesigned and larger stacks and funnel. That being said, I wouldnt put it past them to install a cart course, however I’m guessing the weight and dynamics of it probably have to be spec’d in to the original design for that to be added. Now laser tag, yeah I can totally see them replacing the H2O for laser tag, FDR loves that stuff.. $$$$

Where are people hearing about a go kart being put in as a replacement for the ropes course? Do we know what is actually being done during this dry dock? Would hate to see something that’s included be replaced by an additional up charge attraction. Thanks

Back in 2020 when I booked a cruise on the Escape for 2022 I was told by NCL while booking on the phone that they were removing the obstacle course and adding a go cart track.

Let's hope that things could have  changed in the past year!

I might have tried the ropes course,  but have no interest in go carts. 😕

Oh please no go carts on the Escape!  I want them to revamp and add a pool to Spice H2O on her.  Leave the rest the way it is, just keep the ship looking fresh.

Does anyone know if they have done anything to help mitigate the cigarette smoke smell from the casino area?  I am a former smoker so I get that people want to have their smokes.  However, the smell was pretty bad when we sailed her in 2017.   I am hoping for a better experience around that area when we sail her again next year.

Given that the Escape has one more engine than BA, and NCL has apparently gone to multi-engine scrubbers (from photos of the BA modifications), that means even more "real estate" up top will need to be taken away for the scrubbers.

My understanding was the scrubbers were already on the ships from Escape forward, so no "new" scrubbers were needed.  Is that not correct?

here for example, but i think someone wrote this in some older threads before.

I was one of the sources of rumor. We attended a Dinner with the Officers on the Escape and a senior officer (which added some credibility) talked about one of the plans going through engineering review was to replace the ropes course with a go kart track. I have not heard / seen anything to confirm or deny this since.

Touche.  I believe you are correct.
