It is 11/4 now and winds picked up again just as we left port.   They have been blowing pretty good overnight and are suppose to continue and possibly get worse on our way to the Canaries.  At least the winds aren't as strong as the other night.   I was told that we had 74 Knot winds.

That won’t make Sir I-Want-My-IV-Open happy.

Hope things calm soon!

Surprisingly when walking down the hallway I noticed an IV being cleaned and window was down about 6 inches.   Not sure when they restrict.  The winds blowing at 25-30 MPH currently.

Wow! No wonder the Edge lost a few parts. How did she ride with you up high and forward?

More great photos...thanks for sharing.

I have always wanted to go to Palmas de Mallorca...big fan of Rafael Nadal who I believe lives there. So beautiful!

Would appreciate an update on the outdoor smoking area and if will be repaired at sea or remain closed.   Dh really enjoyed that area.

Using the Solarium does not sound like a viable solution... unless it has an air cleaning system... and the  smoking is confined to an area that can be aired out!

The smoking area is back in its regular place.   The Solarium was only used because they closed all decks due to Hurricane Force 1 winds.

Was just talking with a concierge in the Retreat.   She said there was quite a bit of damage.   One of the Iconic Suites had a glass panel shatter.  The also had damage on the Retreat Sun Deck and they lost a glass panel on the rooftop garden.   She said the glass and damage to the sun deck had already been done.

Hey Jim,

We are so doing the same B2B on the Edge.  Question for you - how has YOUR internet connectivity been on the Edge?  We seen to get kicked off every two to four minutes and have to reconnect to the WiFi.  Very frustrating while trying to do some work.

Dinner last night

Not our favorite menu.  We were thinking of going to Blu but ended up eating at Luminae.

They initially brought our a little starter of beets which I promptly refused.  Beets are about the only food I hate. They brought us some berries instead.

Iain requested the children’s menu and ordered the 4 ounce Filet which he enjoyed.  I ordered the Scallops Carpaccio which is one of my favorites and the Salmon from the anytime menu.

For desert Iain had a Bailey and I chose the Chocolate Napoleon.   It was much too rich and I just ate part of it.

Connectivity has been good for most of the cruise.  This morning was the exception and uploads were virtually all impossible.   Not sure if everyone on board was using it or hard to hold a satellite connection with the rough seas.

Around 11:00 am the internet became stable again.

So far I have only gotten bumped off the air one or twice.   I would say best internet we have experienced.

Sad, but glad no one was hurt during the storm (or at least I hope no one was hurt). I wonder if other ships in the same area sustained damage, or if Edge's design is an issue. Hopefully, they will learn and reinforce similar areas on the Apex. Hoping you have smooth sailing and bring the Edge back to the US in one piece. 😉

11/5.

We turned our clocks back last night so we are now on UK time.   I ended up waking at 7:00 and trodden up to Al Bacio for a coffee.

Glad things are being fixed or secured for safety.

I see they are still having the Ladies Pamper party,,,and in a larger space. It's not my usual thing but I went last time out of curiousity. It was  SRO.....so much funm lots of laughs... and they had really free samples. Of course there was  a sales pitch too but no hard sell!  Gave dh time for early cigar time!

Definitely interesting. I thought that the window was supposed to be locked up for cleaning. Hopefully the cabin doesn’t get too wet!

WHAT, one of the Iconic Suites had damage from the storm???

Guess I will not be up-grading from my Inside to Iconic now... LOL

Thanks for the update and continue to have a bon voyage!!!

I have just met Jim and Lain on their way to the CC meetup.

Shortly after, saw the first „emotional support dog“ which was not really trained..

2 minutes later a gentleman in red shorts shouted at 2 officers, who shared the elevator with us saying how much he hated the IV balconies 🤣

We are in Aqua but the buffet is so good here that we have trouble deciding to go to Blu.

Yesterday‘s buffet was incredible with tons of spanish tapas, they even had a separate display table in the center with a cured porkleg, salami and more.
