Wedding priority boarding pass

We are sailing wedding guests who are to have priority boarding for the wedding. I am assuming our boarding pass we print out should say "priority". It does not and we are 2 weeks from sailing. Should I be concerned or do they just have a list and I need to approach someone when getting in line? Booked through a TA but she says it is not her responsibility. What?!?!? Says the bride needs to take care of it.

I guess I need to call Carnival but wanted to see if anyone had experience with this.

I dont know if they get Priority passes    They can board with you as wedding guest.  

Priority people get cabins ready when boarding.   Wedding guests do not.  THey will be told to go to the lido buffet until the wedding

As my post says, I AM the wedding guest and as such SHOULD have priority boarding. Therefore, I assume my boarding pass should have the word "priority" on it. It does not. My question pertains to how I get in the priority line to check in if it does not have that word on the boarding pass.

I do not care about cabins or where to go once on the ship as I will then be with the wedding group.

What the TA is saying is that the bride gives Carnival a list of the names so they will have a list and send you to the right place to wait with the rest of the wedding party

TA booked the cruise and is saying she has nothing to do with boarding (passes) since as stated below, the bride gives a list of names to C.

OK, they have a list. When I arrive at the port and my boarding pass has a time listed for 1:00, do I need to approach someone and tell them I am on a list to check in early? Will they have that list outside of check in? It should not be this hard. First time cruisers would not know to be proactive. They will go where told by the first person who sees their pass which may have an even later time listed and miss the wedding entirely. I am asking why the boarding pass would not have priority printed on it to get people to the proper line.

I would like to hear from someone who has been in early boarding for a wedding.

I'm having a vow renewal (not until 2021) and was told to give a list of my guests that are attending. That is a great question about when they arrive at the port, where do they go. I hadn't thought about that part as not all of my guests are Platinum so I'll have to see if I can get clarification. I've seen wedding parties waiting in the boarding area so I'm assuming they must have some way of knowing who is a part of the party. I hope someone can answer here. Or maybe check the wedding boards in here. Maybe someone else asked that question and has some insight by now? I'm going to go check 😉

What is the difference between the types of Carnival weddings? 
1) An Embarkation Wedding takes place on the ship before your cruise begins, so you can celebrate with family and friends who are not sailing with you. 2) A Wedding At Sea requires that all guests sail with you, since it takes place on the ship, at sea. 3) An Onboard Destination Wedding is offered aboard the ship while it’s docked in a particular port. 4) A Destination Venue Wedding happens off the ship, either on a beach or a similarly beautiful location.

Finally someone who understands the question. I checked the wedding boards but no activity there and this is specific to Carnival process.

That is well understood. That is after they are checked in. The question is about checking in.

Thank you. It sounds like the bride and groom need to assemble everyone somewhere and meet the wedding planner to check in. Those embarkation instructions seem to be missing at this point.

My son got married on carnival.  None of us guest sailed on the cruise.  We all checked in at a certain area. They took our drivers license (returned to us when we left) we all had passes. As a cruise guest you will actually check in.  The wedding coordinator was there on our arrival to walk us through everything. As soon as the ship was cleared to board we were the first ones on. The wedding coordinator was the leader.  All us guest was sent to the buffet while the bride and groom got dressed. They told us step by step where to be and what to do.

I would guess you would go to the Priority/FTTF entrance. When we sailed on Vista out of Miami last year there was a group forming inside the building at the entrance that I am pretty sure was a wedding party. The person that checked my itinerary there at the door was talking to them and he was checking names off the on his clipboard. They did not follow us to the FTTF waiting area so I am not sure where they went. This was about 10:30am.

This is 100% accurate. We were part of a wedding party last year. Our passes did not say priority on them but when you check in at the desk it will be annotated that you are part of the wedding party.

This is the port we left out of and the ship we were on (I may even been part of this group 🙂 ) You are going to be there so much earlier than everyone else. We got there right at 1030am and it was super easy...Carnival knew we were part of the wedding party. We got escorted to this side room for like 30mins then we made our way onto the ship (that process took another 30ish minutes). You will stay with the group the entire time. The wedding party has their own planner that takes care of all of this. The entire process happens so fast, we were up in the ship before noon and they were married by 1pm because both the planner and the officiant do not sail with the ship (plus the planner may have another wedding) and our had our cocktail our and by the time most of the passengers were on, we were all done. Chances are that the ceremony is in the comedy club, which is a little annoying because its at the end of a narrow hallway and a ton of guest walk by it (some try to peak in). The afterparty is more than likely in the piano bar which is on the same deck but midship. Hope this helps

Why should you have priority? Are you Platinum or above? Did you book a suite? Do you have Faster to the fun? If no to all of those you don’t have priority boarding and won’t have it.

Read the rules.  Wedding parties are always the first to board.  It doesn't make sense to have the wedding couple board the ship for the wedding and not the guests.

I got married on the Magic a few years ago and I have Carnival a list of people coming. Some were not cruising but most were. They all checked in with the planner and waited in a separate area. I was the first to board the ship along with my guests. My room was ready and my in laws so my husband could get ready. Shortly after we boarded my bridesmaid room was ready. If you have any questions about the process ask the bride. Carnival gives them all the details

This is the best advice of all. Ask the bride who has had everything arranged.

I got married on the Dream last year.   The bride does give a list of names to the coordinator.  Everyone is instructed to be at the port no later than 1030a.  You go to the FTTF/priority area at the port and tell them you are part of the wedding party.  If they havent started to let people into the building yet, they will tell you to step aside and wait as a group.  When they are ready to start, they let your group in.   This is where you go in and get checked in for your cruise.  After security is where you meet the coordinator.  She will then tell you where the wedding party should sit until boarding.  And as others have stated, you will be first to board.  Your boarding pass will not state priority.  If anyone gives you a hard time, just keep stating you are with the wedding party.  Have fun!

I’m getting married in December and Royal Caribbean told me I have priority and my guest will board with me at the same time. That said, my wedding party and guests have to be there at 10am to board with me. Not an option. I have 50 non sailing guests boarding with me. You should be fine to board with them but your room won’t be ready unless you request it.

They got married 3 years ago so any guests reading this are SOL... (shipout of Luck)

In Seattle we have had a few weddings onboard this '23 season.  The Seattle Pier 91 team always has a morning meeting, so all pier-side staff are aware if there wedding parties, charters, VIPs, etc.  The bridal party usually arrives early (before the terminal doors open), and boards as a group.  It is a pretty straightforward process.
