A bit out of context on that quote don't you think?

And to that poster's meaning...assuming they meant out the window...or out from the open WJ area on Radiance class ships. 😉

Luck, but been on Balcony Deck 7 -10 and over the yrs seen many Dolphins and even Whales(at a distance). Even while sitting high in Wind Jammer. That one was the best, Single Dad taking his 3 young kids on their first Cruise.  Us 4 sitting there eating Breakfast as they swam along with the ship

We've seen them a few times, most often while sailing out of the Port Canaveral channel. Most recent sighting was this past summer, somewhere between Cozumel and Ft. Lauderdale (it was a sea day) from the top deck of Majesty.  Happened to be walking to our  lounge chair, glanced at the ocean and saw quite a few dolphins.

Always fun to see dolphins.

Once while at sea.  I didn’t believe the people that kept saying they were out there but they were!

They are in Galveston port waters all the time . There are three dolphin watch tours to see them . Go outside on decks to see them from ships .

Ok maybe I worded that wrong lol. Meant out the window in the port while eating breakfast at a table by the window.

I totally got it...your original post was quite clear.  🙂 Not the "edited one" from the other poster.  😉

Dolphins once in 27 cruises. In Baltimore while at dock.

Whales twice once at sea and once while docked.

The time we saw the whales while we were docked was actually funny.

There was a whale watching excursion and the excursion boats along with the whales were within a few hundred yards of the ship on the starboard side. Free show for all on board... LOL

We sailed the Canadian maritimes and were hopeful to see whales . I guess it was wrong time of year or we just were not in right place right time . No whales .

However on same sail from Quebec to Galveston on this repositioning , while coming across Gulf of Mexico , the

captain pointed out whales were To be on port side of ship , and all the cruisers on deck ran to port side to see the whales , as we sailed  by them .

Every cruise out of Galveston, we have seen the regulars in Galveston Bay.  They are always there.  Then some in Miami in the channel.  Only once apart from Alaska have we seen dolphins in the open ocean and that was still in the Gulf of Mexico on way to Cozumel.  Unless they're relocating, they almost always stay close to land.  Of course in Alaska,,, all the time everywhere (favorite critter cruises)  But the key is watching and with binoculars....just watch......

Dolphins are always in the port and bay waters in Galveston . I believe they are local and do stay and not relocate .
Whales were in the open Gulf of Mexico and do relocate .
