CyndiColorado Posted January 12, 2020 #1 Share Posted January 12, 2020 We sailed on the Caribbean Princess last March, and found that ALL bars (except the Casino and SkyWalkers) were pretty much done at 11pm. While we're not the type to stay out until 2am, we can make it to midnight or so most of the time. Should we expect the same on the Royal Princess? I've seen several references to Club 6 ... does it stay lively after 11pm?
kywildcatfanone Posted January 12, 2020 #2 Share Posted January 12, 2020 There will be at least a couple of venues that are open at that time, yes. How active they will be will depend on the people onboard.
skynight Posted January 12, 2020 #3 Share Posted January 12, 2020 (edited) Club 6 will probably have a late night DJ. Lively, probably not, could be a few there. It really depends on the passenger demographic. Crooners should have their piano entertainer until midnight. After that not much going on. Casino stays open later. I've seen several references to Club 6 ... does it stay lively after 11pm? The good news is that on some nights on Royal Princess the last DJ events in Club 6 *start* at 11:00 PM*! I can vouch that especially on Holiday cruises (and on some shorter cruises stopping in Cabo or Ensenada) Club 6 can stay lively awhile**. 🙂 *as posted on the Patter. **Your mileage may vary. 😀 Edited January 12, 2020 by RSS from SF
Thrak Posted January 12, 2020 #5 Share Posted January 12, 2020 Longer cruises tend to get older passengers and that tends to lead to "crickets" in the nightclub. On a 28 day cruise I went to Skywalker's every night after Wheelhouse closed at 11:30. For most of the cruise there was nobody there but me and crew and the crew were on the phone by midnight asking for permission to close as there was no business. The last 8 days were all sea days (Tahiti to LA) and then, finally, there was a "crowd" of maybe 10 or 12 people.
exbiologist Posted January 12, 2020 #6 Share Posted January 12, 2020 (edited) Speaking of last weeks Mexican Riviera Cruise, the night life is what you bring to the table. My group brought some energy to the casino and shut down the craps table at 3 am one night and 1 am the other. Also it’s always a good feeling when they have to get more money from behind the cage to deal with a busy table. Casino was busy, but club 6 was deserted. Crooners has a piano man until 12:30ish. We would eat til about 9:30 then go party. If you want to party they will permit it, but not do much to bring the party to you after 11. You bring the party to a venue. and yes they shut you down after 15 drinks on the beverage package. Good thing wives still had room. MissP22 Posted January 12, 2020 #7 Share Posted January 12, 2020 The Royal is pretty much the same as other Princess ships since most of the year they attract an older clientele who aren't known to party late nights. Now that Royal is on the west coast things might have changed with a younger crowd.

There was however a large group of us at the International Cafe beginning around 4:30 AM having a good time Howard
Rare cruisequeen4ever Posted January 12, 2020 #9 Share Posted January 12, 2020 Club 6 gets going around 11:00 PM and goes strong usually til 1:00 AM, depending on the cruise location. Mexico and Caribbean cruises have a lot more nightlife. Club 6 was dead by midnight in Alaska.
Wishing on a star Posted January 12, 2020 #10 Share Posted January 12, 2020 The location and itinerary will be the biggest factor. Shorter cruise, Warm weather cruise... can be much different than a different, older demographic, port intensive cruise like Alaska or Europe. This can depend on the CD and bands onboard as well. On one cruise on the Regal, the party band ROCKED, and was in the Atrium more nights than not. Till like 11:00. It looks like on a recent cruise, it wasn't quite like that. Different other presentation musical shows. Some lively and some not as lively.
RMMariner Posted January 12, 2020 #11 Share Posted January 12, 2020 Never noticed anything worth of being called a nightlife after 11 pm on any of the cruises we have been on, except for Mexico. Hawaii was Night of the Living Dead by 10 pm.

No wonder we never knew that anything ever happened in Club 6--I thought it was a wasted (and awkward) space. In bed by 11 usually because we're not "spring chickens" <g>
