Corby114 Posted January 22, 2020 #31 Share Posted January 22, 2020 Half Moon Cay is absolutely beautiful. The water is warm, the beach is stunning and the view is wonderful. I could spend a few days there hanging out on the beach. Just a comfortable place to spend a great day relaxing and enjoying yourself with your family. Just writing this I want to plan another cruise to this outstanding place! 1

jordanaire Posted January 26, 2020 #33 Share Posted January 26, 2020 St. Maarten, without a doubt! We've sailed to here 7 times so far and it's just heaven on earth for us. And as soon as they get Orient Beach back to "normal", it will be even better! We were there last April and the beach is fine, but the beach-side restaurants were gone because of the hurricane. Absolutely love OB!
evandbob Posted January 26, 2020 #34 Share Posted January 26, 2020 I'm wondering if the OP meant by a "Carnival port". Is that a Carnival built or leased port or just one that Carnival goes to as well as other lines? If it's the former, Carnival built, or leased, then HMC or Grand Turk way down the beach away from the crowds are both simply beautiful, HMC more so. I dislike the corral shopping areas that Carnival built in Amber Cove and Mahogany Bay - I will either stay on the ship and enjoy an almost empty Serenity deck on AC or go snorkeling, zip lining or to Tabyana Beach, LFK or Maya Key in Roatan. When multi cruise line ports use a port like Costa Maya, I'll go to Marahuel or any of the ruins, or look for a resort for a day sort of experience. If the OP was talking of any port that Carnival has on an itinerary, I'll return to answer after our Norway fjords sailing this June.

Joe817 Posted January 26, 2020 #38 Share Posted January 26, 2020 When I grow up, I want to visit every port mentioned in the Beach Boys songs(Kokomo), and Jimmy Buffett's songs. I've got a long way to go.
Sagittarius traveler Posted January 26, 2020 #39 Share Posted January 26, 2020 Being able to stay in port for more than 8 hours and departing at night is the best! Love the small bars and stuff near the port before you board stay there for a good 1-2 hours and enjoy the island life hahah.

Momma1980 Posted January 27, 2020 #43 Share Posted January 27, 2020 I agree with a prior poster that said Cozumel is a premium stop. We just take it for granted because so many cruises have a stop there. Love Cozumel and have done SO many different things there. (Including the fact that it is in proximity to so many options on the mainland). I must admit that I Love Half Moon as my all time favorite beach day port. I have booked cruises just to go to Half Moon.

I did a quick search and Fascination will begin calling on Grenada in May ‘21 (only 7 sailings though) i also love Curaçao and Aruba, though I wish Carnival would mix-up the 8 day Southern Caribbean route out of Florida - since 2016, it has pretty much been some variation of the A, B, C islands and Grand Turk
Frank12 Posted January 29, 2020 #47 Share Posted January 29, 2020 St Maarten for sure. Cozumel not far behind, but you have to go to the east side of the island away from the cruise port / tourist traps.

marshhawk Posted January 29, 2020 #50 Share Posted January 29, 2020 Amber Cove, the ship sails in the early morning past the mountains, and the island is beautiful! Glacier Bay-OMG! there is a higher power! HMC-best beach ever (after Elbow Beach in Bermuda, but that was years ago and not on a cruise) Progresso-best port to reach Mayan Ruins Cozumel-so many fun things to do and see Key West-great walking town. Sorry, couldn't pick just one! So I keep cruising!
