Sail Away Party - Aqua Class?

We are headed on our first cruise, on infinity next month. So excited! My question is… I’ve been reading the threads about invites to a Sail Away party, and who is invited. Is this a thing for aqua class, or just suites and elite CC, or is it random too?

It's generally extended to roll call members on Cruise Critic.  Have you joined your cruise's roll call?

Informal sailaway party at start of cruise for roll call group..often at Sunset Bar

 

Helipad sail in and away by invitation..Elite suites etc

And on one of our EDGE cruises Concierge class had one out past the Thermal suite..forward with the golden penguins

 

Reg sailaway is poolside, cd,  dj, band.,.or elsewhere if it rains ( ugh)

Go to Boards, roll calls, your cruise line and ship and date...or give info here and someone will post the link to roll call..I am tech challenged but not hard to find!

 

From your roll call you can also sign up for an official connectiins part ( called Meet and Mingle on Royal C) ...find the  link....top right?....need cruise  conf number.. if 25 sign up you get the party,..

The Cruise Connections Party mentioned by @hcat above is in addition to the Sail Away parties that many Roll Calls have at the Sunset Bar following muster drill. They are usually held on the morning of the first sea day, but if your cruise has the minimum 25 you'll receive an invitation in your cabin if you've signed up.

Sail away parties are organised by connected passengers eg through CC and sometimes through book pages outside of CC and not by the cruise line. Nothing to do with which cabin you’ve booked.

If you are speaking about the invitation to attend the sail away on the helipad with the ship's officers (not all, of course, but several in attendance), that is usually extended through the Captain's Club host or the Hotel Director and usually to zenith, elite plus and suite passengers.  It's a great event if you are invited.  Be sure to wear closed toed shoes or you will not be able to attend.  

As for the sail away party that is set up via Cruise Critic, simply join the roll call and any online sign up.  Also a pretty event if there are enough people and you've made plans with others from the roll call.

Maybe you are thinking about the Cruise Connections Party which you have to sign up on line.  You get an invite in your stateroom.  Mostly held the next day after embarkation.  Here's a link to sign up:  https://www.celebritycruises.com/cruise-critic-connections

 

The ship usually holds a sail away party on the pool deck.  No invitation.  Everyone is invited.

Being in AQ you should have a bottle of Bubbly in your cabin that you can pop and enjoy on your balcony while sailing away.  
 

Or you can take it to the sail away party by the pool area, shake it up and pop it to spray everyone around you or the passengers on the deck below. 🤗

We have gotten invitations to the helipad sailway from certain ports and it's always fun to attend. We're Elite and sail in Aqua Class, I'm not sure which gets us the invitation. They will serve sparkling wine at the event.
