Elite and Classic Member in cabin: what are the Captains Club rules?

Hi Friends,

I'll be traveling with a family member who is a classic member but I am elite. We are on the Summit this May. It's been a while since I've been in this dilemma and I know the CC program has gone through quite a few iterations over the years. I know it used to be that anyone in the room could come along to the breakfast / happy hr in the sky lounge, but I am not sure if the rule still stands as they seem to be checking cards at the entrance these days? Thank you 🙂

Yes, the rules still stand.  You will need to give them your card when you want a free drink.  The drinks are unlimited and indicated on your account.  Unless your cabin mates has a Drink Package, they  will be charged for their drinks.  The good news is that your free drinks are available in most bars on board.  The details will be included on a flyer in your cabin.

If you have any issues, just talk to the Captain Club hostess.

Your cabin mate can attend all Elite events. If you attend the event in the lounge they can have free drinks with you. Ditto for the breakfast.

I don't believe that's true.

At the beginning of the cruise visit the CC host . She will issue a new card for your cabin mate. It will say Elite but have no benefits attached. It is basically an admission card to events

Oh ok that makes sense. Thank you

I am not the OP and I was just answering their question.
Perhaps your experience was before the process change several years ago?

Isn’t there a difference depending on whether one is attending the Captain’s Club happy hour or getting the drinks at a bar?

It used to be that as long as you were in the same cabin / suite as someone who is elite or above (and your cabin mate is not) they could come with you too all of the events and partake as you would for (happy hour, breakfast break, elegant tea, wine tasting ect). But I haven’t reviewed the rules in probably 8 years so I asked because maybe there was a change...

they don’t get the laundry internet and things loaded on the sea pass card

I talked though a month ago on this ‘rule’ and unless its changed since, yes the cabin mate can join the Elite (and above) person to all the socials and if they have the special lounge set up for the Elite happy Hr, they can step in with the Elite person and get drinks. If there is no lounge and only drinks added to a card, I was told only the Elite got the drinks on the card, not the other guest.

Den has it right... when my friend and I travel together she can attend any of the Elite/Elite+ events, gatherings, activities with me. If we go the the CC happy hour in the Sky Lounge she can get drinks from the menu. If the CC drinks are on my card and we go anywhere else she does not get free drinks. She can get breakfast at the E/E+ breakfast with me. She does NOT get any of the other things like gelato, laundry, discounts, coffee/teas, internet minutes, etc.

I am not sure this would apply to you, but I will become Elite on our next cruise so I am Select now.  My husband is Classic.  I have a number of extra cruises that he did not go on because I escorted groups of residents from a lifecare community.  In talking with Celebrity, they upgraded him to Select, so he now also has 264 points? like I do.  Hope this helps.

This is a different situation.

Spouses living at the same address are given the same points and the same perks.

That does not apply to friends or other family members sharing a stateroom with you who reside at a different location.

Yes, it is still as you describe.

At the beginning of the cruise, visit the Captain's Club Host/ess together with your family member to explain your situation and your roommate should be given either a special card or sticker good for admission to all the Captain's Club events on the cruise  (e.g., the wine tasting, backstage tour, elegant tea, possibly a helipad sail-in or sail-out) as well as the CC breakfast and happy hour.

Your roommate is welcome to partake of the food and beverages that are served at those events.

But as  MEcruzr explained above, your roommate does not receive the elite perks that are loaded on your seapass card.

Your husband did not get the same number of cruise points you have. He did get the CC select tier level match but  his cruise points are what he currently had as a CC classic tier level. Since your accounts are linked, both display the highest cruise point total. If your CC accounts would ever be unlinked, yours would only show cruise points you have earned. If he was to set up his own CC account it would show only his cruise points he has earned. You both will still be CC select. You both will turn elite at the same time but he will have less cruise points than you.

Great! We’ll visit the CC hostess. Thanks!
