Not sure if this link will open in other countries, but a story in my second favourite Cornish village. 

The pub got flooded but diners and drinkers kept on eating and drinking

I used to think the same thing but technology has really changed that.  My daughter (who is getting married next year) started dating her finance in high school.  She went to the University of Kentucky and he went to Cornell.  They would Facetime each other almost daily.  They made it through 4 years of a long distance college relationship.

Looking forward to seeing the footage of the Jubilee celebrations for the Queen this week.  A couple of years ago, I dragged my daughter to the Royal Mews in London.  I took a photo of every single Royal carriage on display much to my daughter’s amusement but my favourite was the Gold State Coach.  I was delighted to read yesterday that it is to the featured in this week’s pageant parade in London.  It hasn’t been seen actively in public for 20 years.

I rarely watch the news but on Tuesday night I wanted to watch it for the coverage of the first cruise ship in 2 years departing Sydney.  Asked DS to put the news on at 6pm which he did.  Thought hmmm that is a new newsreader.  10 mins later,  thinking hmmm there was a lot happening in Melbourne today.  20mins later, DH walks into the room, looks at the tv and says “why are you watching Ch9 Melbourne news?”

Somehow we managed to watch Ch9 Melbourne instead of Ch9 Sydney.  

D’oh!
