I'm a little over 900K miles so not even a million miler yet.  I might get there, but probably not soon.  Last I looked though, that was just permanent silver which as you say, only offers minor benefits.  Rarely do you get a first class bump now from silver.

About a year pre pandemic my Brother who has traveled for business for many years was mistakingly upgraded with American Airlines as a elite / platinum member I think they call it.     He did not reach the million miler and had no idea other than possibly a computer glitch but he gets all kinds of perks and upgrades to first class on a regular basis.    He said at a couple of airports they have a concierge meet you as soon as you check in and they will escort you to the lounge, secure your carryon, get you food and drink, whatever you want then even walk you onto the plane in some cases.

I wish someone would make that mistake on their computer for us!

I only drink Bloody Marys early in the morning on a golf course.  Tradition.  Not a fan of tomato juice either but it makes for good swing oil when mixed with vodka and some spicy heat.  Sure...toss in a stalk of celery.

This would be me.  If you are looking for a commercial Bloody Mary mix, try Zing Zang.  Best store mix period.

A friend of mine is a bartender and he makes his own mix, occassionally he will give me a two liter bottle of his private version it is Devine.

It is 72°F in our back garden.

Pauline is working from home and I have been sorting paperwork, phoning customers, emptying the dishwasher and hanging washing on the line.

We have just had lunch and I am sunbathing.

Hope you all are having a great day.

Graham.

I guess I am an odd duck. I love tomato juice, V8, Bloody Mary's with celery and even tuna and chicken salad with celery for some crunch. Oh well different strokes for different folks. John is right if you eat just plain celery you burn more calories eating it than the calories that are in celery.

The only crunch I want with my tuna salad is crackers.

I too love tomatoes in almost any form but retch at the thought of tomato juice.

she must have brought me tomato juice with a celery stick in it. I'm scarred for life. I've never been able to drink tomato juice again.

Great story. I completely understand. For Bloody Mary mix I use the Mr. and Mrs T's Bloody Mary Mix. I don't think it is a true tomato juice. It also comes in a bold and spicy mix which is really good.

My wife is like that. Loves ketchup but will take a tomato off of a hamburger. She loves BBQ baked beans but will not eat any other kind of beans. We humans are interesting in that way.

Nope, I will not eat tuna salad with celery. What a way to ruin it.

You beat me to the punch. I love celery in tuna salad.  Gives it such a nice crunch.

I was going to say the same thing like water chestnuts in spinach dip. Nice crunch.

but pimento cheese is good on celery.

Yes very good. I don't what's in cheese wiz and I probably don't want to know. My mom always made us cheese wiz sandwiches when we were kids, so I'm used to it.

Thanks Voyager70.

We have had no rain for over a week now.

Pauline has her second Astra Zeneca vaccine jab tomorrow.🤞

Excellent news for Pauline.  I'll be two weeks since my second jab Thursday.  Had some mild side effect but nothing major.  So nice to have protection.
