And your paying me for what I know, so I’m not giving it to you for free.

No, it is not that.  When you are a manager, paid to be a decision maker each decision is different.

I took a month's holiday before I left.  A problem arose and the "***** hit the fan".  They were watching my reaction when I came back without me knowing.  I was shocked! and said This is how you should have handled it.  They said how did you know that?  I said that is what decision makers do, decide on best course of action to save management.  It is called experience mixed with common sense.

Thanks, Leigh.  On a brighter note, we just loved Padstow and Cornwall.  Really lovely locals (apart from a couple of officious medical personnel😂).  It’s a beautiful part of the world.

I agree.  After my daughter lived in London for a few years, I made sure she took a weekend in Devon and Cornwall before coming home.  She and her friends stayed in a Truro gate house whilst I stayed in a B&B

on Eden Project land at Mevagissey South Cornwall.  I have visited several other beautiful places on other occasions.  I even went to the State Fair.  Like you I love that part of England.

Try Drambuie Lyle, I always have a bottle in my cabinet.  Lubbly Jubbly.

Les, that's my go to drink for when I want a special drink - nectar of the gods I call it. I had a quiet drink at the end of the night after the Panthers GF win - a tradition I started last year & hope to continue for a good many more 🙂

Drambuie is a members special at the moment at Dans. I bought a bottle this arvo, $58, normally $72. But by the time I bought a bottle of Beenleigh Rum and a few bottles of Hardys Stamp vino, my wallet was $202 lighter, lol.

Well we had an offer on our house, it was not really acceptable so we did a counter proposal. They made another offer and we accepted it. As it stands the sale is under contract but it is subject to development approval. That will take some months so we will be here until mid June at which time the deal fall through if they don't get the zoning.

Good news, and fingers crossed for you🤞

Somewhere on this board I mentioned that I crashed a mountain bike (about 5 weeks ago) while in France. Someone asked how my shoulder was as I had mentioned it was stil sore. Last week I went to my GP and was sent to a radiologist for an ultra sound and x-ray.

Result is I have a couple of lingering issues.

"Bicep tendinosis with sheaf effusion. Subcromial bursitis. 4mm partial thickness tear of supraspinatus tendon." Roughly translated it means I have a sore shoulder.

Shoulder aches when using my computer mouse and find it hard to raise my arm higher than my shoulder without support.

Being a glutton for punishment I didn't help things yesterday by indulging in some much overdue home maintenance like climbing around on the roof removing rusty guttering and replacing some (veranda) gutter hangers that were sagging under the weight of all the rainwater we've been getting lately.

The rust from the guttering has stained the non-slip paving paint around my pool (which was also starting to peel/flake so it needs re-doing which meant I had to remove the potted cordylines around the pool and also cut back the lilli-pilli privacy hedge and while at it remove aged and warped decking that partially covered the painted concrete and after that I hit the old paint with my Karcher water blaster pressure cleaner. No such thing a a simple job around my place. And, while I'm at it I have rusted  guttering on my garage that also needs replacing. Been home a week and mowed the lawn twice. I think I'll give the shoulder a rest today.

I'm going for my first ultrasound today, on my knee.  I hope it comes with a translation if I get a result in language like yours.  I know it won't be of the level of yours from a bike accident.

Reading these things is an art. I can read spinal MRI reports near on as good as the doctors, the side vies films the same, but the top view films still confuse me. I can do spine CTs pretty well too, but every now and then need to resort to the medical dictionary.

When my son was in Med school and I would ask what some stuff meant he would answer “Hey dad, my medical opinion is that it means your back is cactus”. Funnily when they started exploring these mini strokes they did a CT angiogram and the Specialist said “This vertebral artery is gooooone the other not much better” I asked the cause he said we’ll look here, here, here and here, your neck is cactus. I knew then that he knew his stuff.

Soft tissue, or osteoarthritis?

I have been out of action for three weeks. I badly twisted my right knee - torn meninscus, strained muscles, tendons and ligaments. Hoping to avoid surgery so am doing everything physio wants me to do. I thought I had a good pain threshold but either I don't or the pain from this injury is severe. The knee is still painful after three weeks and it has also affected my lower back. Ice packs and heat packs are being well used. Using crutches has been so hard as I am unco at any time. Anyway, now just using one crutch when I go outside. Physo says it will be another few weeks before I feel I am getting back to normal.

Not good, torn meniscus can be awful, and it is amazing how an injury to one part (your knee) can cause problems elsewhere *your back). The human body is an amazing machine

Does your medico son bulk bill you?  lol.  Come down here, 99% of the doctors hit you for 80 or 90 bucks a visit, concession card or not.

The human body is one complex piece of machinery. I actually am blaming the bed/chair I had to sit on for hours at the hospital emergency department for the back pain, but physio believes it is all connected. It was such a simple thing which caused the injury - getting into the driver's seat of my car, I evidently planted the right foot as I swivelled my body around, hence the knee twisted.

He dropped medicine and went into computing. Funny my old Doc always charged a gap, he had a stroke and I had to find a new Dr, eventually went back to a bloke I had used 20 years ago most visits ended with me saying “Barry you can’t bulk bill me every visit, you have to make a living too” now he retired both Mrs G and I see a young girl at his practice she too always bulk bills me, but normally charges Mrs Gut a gap. Many of my visits are by phone though, or just deal with while Mrs G is seeing her. Both the female Gut’s have been known to come home and say things like “Be nice if the doctor asked how I was (all three mentioned above) but no first question is always how is Geoff”.

see told youse all I’m spethshial.
