No surprise for me....I predicted no cruises out of NYC for 2020 (although many vehemently disagreed)

I had a cruise booked on the Radiance for Cuba...canceled

Instead I booked the Radiance for July....canceled

Instead I booked the Sunrise for Oct....canceled

Going on the Magic....6/2021 (I hope)

So, I'm confused. I received this e-mail as well.  It says my cruise has been cancelled. However, we are scheduled to sail June 28th, out of Miami, on the Magic.  According to the email, it says that they will resume sailing on 6/27.

Wait for the surge of phone calls to die down then call.

For the first time ever, I booked through a large Warehouse Type Store's Travel Unit instead of through the cruise line itself. Should I wait and have the Travel Unit do the FCC form or can I do it myself? I don't plan on using a travel agency again.

The credits etc should be in your Carnival acct...so you can do it yourself.

My cruise, scheduled for last week, was canceled back in March, and I still have no "credit" despite choosing that as an option on the form.

Hmmm, that seems to be a common problem.  I use a TA...and rebooked immediately.  Everything was there.  Best way to know....call Carnival.

My TA just sent this to me. She just received it.

"Carnival has now extended all cancelled sailing thru June 26th and all sailings out of NY into the fall"

Suspension Update from Carnival Cruise Line

As all of us come together to support the global response to the COVID-19 situation, the cruise industry is extending our pause in operations once again. For Carnival, this means we will resume our North America cruising on June 27, 2020, and as part of this, we are also cancelling Carnival Sunrise’s seasonal itineraries out of New York this summer and into the fall.

If you sail in June of next year it will be Magic 😉

most likely your cruise was canceled because they might need to additional time getting the ship ready since they sent like half the crew back home

If that were the case Carnival would have allowed for it when they redid the schedule.

Just heard from my T.A. our Sunrise out of NYC on 9/3/20 has been cancelled as have all Sunrise cruises until after Oct. 9.  This will make our third attempt that has been problematic.  Our Sept. 2019 Bermuda was sidelined due to a hurricane, then we booked May 3 to Panama, then we booked Sept. 2020 to Bermuda since we never got there.  Now what?  I know some in our group said that if something happens to our "new" Bermuda cruise, they're done with cruising.

I've been canceled on the sunrise twice now in may. Still have a cruise planned for september 20th 2020 to Bermuda from Baltimore on the Pride.. been on this cruise 1 time before and it was my favorite. (I've also been on the pride 2 other times to the Bahamas/Caribbean)

Oh...I hope so.  I booked an OS because of all the money I'm not spending this year!  And, all that OBC gives me a nice casino budget.  It's a win/win!

We have our fingers crossed for you. We remember how much you enjoyed sailing the Miracle from New York many times. We took the hint and have since sailed the Miracle from Long Beach to Mexico 4 times. The Spirit Class ships became our favorite and that is owed  in no small measure to you. Happy Sailings

Hmmm...I have a fan it seems.

I like the Miracle.  If my memory is correct, they had a covered pool and some kind of a garden area in the front of the ship.  It was indoors and you could sit there and watch the sea.

I don't have a favorite ship.  I like to sail on different ships (already did the Sunrise...so I was disappointed when the Radiance was canceled) because it's like "going to a different country" (different entertainment, food, layout).  I think of the ship as the destination because I've been to the ports many times.  Each one is unique in some way.

First obstacle is getting all the crew back. Will they  have to quarantine for 14 days once they arrive in Florida?

Where will they quarantine and who pays for it?

My guess is ship...and who do you think will pay?

I saw this part

  • Regardless of the option you choose, your taxes, fees and port expenses, Carnival Vacation Protection, pre-paid gratuities, pre-purchased Carnival shore excursions, beverage and Wi-Fi packages, and Fun Shop purchases will be automatically refunded to the original form of payment.

but wasn't sure about my FCC. Will it be the original amount of my booking that I paid? I claimed a price protection and part of my original payment was moved to OBC, will that be part of my FCC?

It's THROUGH June 26th not 27th. Big difference. I'm scheduled on Panorama on 6/27 and have been waiting for them to cancel. No way Im sailing that soon even if carnival does. I live in L.A., face masks are mandatory to enter businesses, schools are out for the rest of the year, stay at home order just got extended. This is no where near over. I want ALL my money back not tons of OBC on top of the tons of OBC I already have from price drops. I checked the website when I didnt have an email and so far its still on, can't believe I missed it by 1 day. Uuuuuggghhh just cancel alreadyy!

Well, looks like my June 27th cruise on the Panorama is still on as of now. Actually surprised. Guessing that will change but at least I have the ability to not make final payment until May 27th. We are still not into this for too much..
