MSC Fragrance

MSC has a signature fragrance in their shower products, diffusers, candles, eau de cologne.  What is it called?  Is it available off the ship?

I'm starting my last chocolate ship; I need something!

Yep, that's it. Simply Med by MSC. They actually infuse it in the AC systems on the ships as well though it is very subtle. Only place I know to get it is onboard in the shops. Though occasionally have gotten one through an MSC employee in the FLL office.

May I ask how you got that off the ship in one piece?  When I left Meraviglia, I still had 19 days before I would get home with 13 days in Florida's warm weather.  I had visions of a chocolate mess by the time I got home to retrieve it from whatever bag I placed the item.

They're remarkably resiliant those ships. We disembarked in Barbados a couple of years ago, our ships were in our suitcases which stood outside in the sunshine for ages before we transferred to our hotel. The same ocurred whilst we were leaving the hotel to travel to the airport some days later. I envisaged a suitcase full of melted chocolate blobs once we arrived home but our ships were absolutely intact. I just wrap the box in clothes and bury in the case somewhere.

I've a few tubes of toiletries around and they just say 'Med by MSC'.

Does anyone actually think the ships taste good? I find the chocolate very hard to bite into, and a bit crumbly after that.... That said I always bring it home, if there is room after including the robes, sheets, miniatures from mini-bar, towels, that type of thing.

We were determined to get our ships home!  DH cut up all his plastic bags from the shirt laundry, and wrapped each ship in that, within their boxes.  They all went into the regular luggage (not carryon).  We were tempted to ditch some of our clothing, just to make sure we had room (and weight allowance), but it all got through.  We flew home to cold weather, so no days or weeks in the hot sun!  They went into cool pantry storage here.

I do think it is delicious chocolate, but hard to cut.  I can't recall how we cut any while on the ship; we didn't have carving knives!  I use a heavy-duty serrated knife here.  A solid little chunk is the tastiest; small bits get eaten with a spoon.

Thank you, all, for the info about the Med scent.

OMG - the overuse of that fragrance is not very sinus friendly to some of us.

On our last cruise, there must have been a source at the junction of the elevator lobby and out hallway. Every-time we walked off the elevator to go to our cabin, we were hit with a blast of the scent and our noses were dripping water before we hit our cabin.

We had to ask for several days to get a box of tissues for our cabin.

We did finally received a box and we asked our cabin steward not to use the stuff in any air freshener for our cabin.

I know you're having us on, but your story reminded me of a few years ago at MIA for flight check-in.  Over to our left was a couple with a suitcase over the limit.  I laughed so much, watching your man stuffing robes and towels into his carry-on bag.  I hope he got his money's worth!  😅

We still have a few diffusers in the cabinet.

First trip with two chocolate ships in carry on no problems with melting.

MIA TSA found them to be suspicious and were swabbed for you know what.  Never been detained so long.  Future ships went in checked bag.

LOL - Let's also not forget the news story from a number of years ago about a woman banned for  life from Royal Caribbean. She was stopped at the gangway with a full table service for eight (?) in her luggage.

Banned for life! Wow. I guess I'll save the extra baggage charge  and won't bother taking an empty suitcase with me next time. 😇

I love the diffusers, and they seem to last a really long time compared to any we've ever bought. A good 3-4 months from opening. A good tip and polite request usually secures an extra couple....

They do last a long time and we aren't good at following directions to flip the sticks.

We just buy them in the gift shop.

Good to know about the diffusers.  We were not in Diffuser Experience (but apparently we were in Chocolate Ship Experience), and I didn't buy one.  Now that I'm having MSC withdrawal, I want one.  I never really noticed the scent in the cabin; I think I just like the idea of it.

Along with some other posters' comments, I now regret that I didn't take my chocolate Meraviglia with me.  I did like the "Med by MSC" fragrance and often do take what toiletries I have not completely used with me.  Didn't do that this time, either.  I did take one pair of the slippers with me because I thought they would be thrown away since I had opened the package.

A full table service! That's outstanding 🤣 I mean just why?

I don't really get the towels and robes, the robes never fit!

We also take our slippers, as they dispose of them, if left behind (opened)

After reading this, I have pulled out my “supply” of MED by MSC body wash.  Now, trying to imagine we are back onboard and having a great cruise.

"Trying to imagine we are back onboard and having a great cruise."  That is precisely the reason I take with me extra toiletries, copies of the daily programs, etc. at the end of a cruise.  When I use a bar of soap from the ship or slip on one of the slippers, "I am back on board" in my memory.  Even for a very brief period of time, obviously.  It's a psychological pleasure.

I have my slippers and diffuser but the rest of the experience isn't going so well. No one has delivered drinks, I can't find the buffet, meal choices and quality are not as good and the cleaning leaves a lot to be desired compared to onboard. The staff are nowhere near as obliging - DH is a poor butler and flatly refuses to escort me anywhere.

This at home cruising isn't for me 🤣🤣

I might have to dig in to my daily programs next.  I re-read my journal; that was really nice.  No Med fragrance on ebay.  But if I start wearing the new White Night outfit I bought and didn't get to wear, it means I'm getting desperate.

“Home cruising” isn’t for me either, I keep hoping cruises will get back up, three cancelled cruises and one cancelled Hawaii trip - now I realize people do have a lot more to deal with than cancelled cruises - but still hoping and anxiously awaiting our next cruise.

bawahahaha hilarious

though we did meet a fellow who BRAGGED that he put the minis in his suitcase. I was dumbfounded... Asked him WHY he had to take the minis home when he had an open bar/plenty of food options in YC--

He said he really "liked" the minis....

Made me think he couldn't really afford to be there--or was a cheapskate.

Cannot imagine what he tipped/or didn't tip his butler and other servers.

We have several ships here and I had been researching how to store them for future eating/baking. The one we cut into-- we used a chefs knife. I do think it may be good for baking as well.

We need a SHOCKED face emoji. Holy moley-- thats worse than the towel/robe stealers and mini bar hoarders

Am missing that Med Fragrance myself and the ambiance

I'm learning.  When we were on the ship, we put them in the mini-bar so they wouldn't be in the sun.  They were quite hard to cut. Here at home, I've stored them in the basement pantry.  Fairly hard to cut.  But a few days ago the weather went from frigid to hot, and suddenly my ship is easy to cut.  It's not melty, just perfect at room temp (no AC here).
