I'm adding my brother to the Prayer list.  He had a numbness in his leg after his back surgery and has been taken to a hospital for an MRI.  Unfortunately, he has not been a good patient and has resisted following the Doctor's orders.

What a day. Ice cream for breakfast? yes!

Roy, looks like your care list is working. Pretty powerful positive thoughts going out for others.

Sure hope this next round of jabs  goes well for everybody. We start the 65+ this week here. I will get the pfizer vaccine on Tuesday.

Getting groceries delivered weekly has become the norm for us this past year. But ice cream day reminds me of my first order.

Can I get ice cream delivered? ok I will give it a try.

35 minutes between clicking on”place order” and the doorbell ringing. wow. That was impressive. And then when I opened the door, this woman came on in and went straight to my kitchen. She said she had to get the ice cream in the freezer. Then she put all the other frozen foods away, too.

It was a good way to get hooked on this service.

Take care, all. The masks are working!

I can take Tylenol... but it usually does nothing for me. I will try to avoid meds but if I really need something, guess Tylenol it will be. Interesting you have a possible allergy to Tylenol.... I have one to Ibuprofen... I break out in the neatest rash. My doctor was impressed.

Susan

And I'm the opposite, Advil does nothing for me!  Interesting how everyone is different!

Prayers for your brother, Ray.  I wonder if it's a pinched nerve?

Good afternoon, all! Late to the party again today! So I missed the heads up about ice cream for breakfast. Luckily, I like breakfast any time of day, so it will all work out! The manicotti sounds good, but we already have chicken fried cauliflower rice planned.

Tonight we have snow forecast, although it’s likely to melt as it hits with all the rain we’ve had. This ushers in our first real cold this winter, -11 in a couple of days!

A year ago today, the Amsterdam brought us to Puntas Arenas on the World Cruise. I even put my toe in the Strait of Magellan- but not for long. It was cold! On our tour we visited the geographic center of Chile, had the most amazing King Crab chowder for lunch, and picked wild calafate berries in a national park. (At least I did, most people followed the guide and viewed the scenic lookout.) It was a wonderful day!

Dipping a foot in the Strait of Magellan. It’s cold there!

Arriving at the lookout over town early. The vendors were still setting up, and the dogs were still sleeping!

This should be a sweeping vista shot, but I liked the chimneys.

Monument near the port. I have no idea what’s going on here, but it clearly illustrates why mandatory lifeboat drills became important.

EVERYONE touched the toe - it’s meant for luck. It’s even surer luck if you KISS the toe. I can’t imagine us doing that now. How times change!

Me steering the life sized replica of Darwin’s Beagle. (Which may or may not explain how it ended up on dry land). The ships these explorers lived and sailed in so long and so far were so tiny!

Lunch at La Luna. Their King Crab chowder is to die for! (With local wine, of course!)

Visiting the old Fort that guarded the entrance to the strait. Much has been rebuilt. I loved the line of the stockade fence cresting the hill like a punk Mohawk.

Calafate berries, used in ice cream, matè, etc. It is said that if you eat the fruit of the calafate in Patagonia, you will return to Patagonia some day. I’d like that.

And finally, if you haven’t figured it out yet, Happy Saturday!

Thank you to everyone who contributes to these great Daily reports.

Love the quote.

@kazu have you heard from Krazy Kruzers since the stair lift was installed? Hope it has made their lives easier.

Another warm sunny summer day,  but the nights are drawing in.

Stay safe and well everyone.

My absolutely favourite breakfast when I was a teenager (a boarder at a Catholic school in Vancouver, a city I didn't know) was when on some Saturdays, we would take the bus into town and there was a shop (near that big clock?) where we used to have hot chocolate, and chocolate cake with a big scoop of chocolate ice cream on top.  This thread has made me remember that fun!

We did a few errands this morning and stopped at the garden centre for some seed-starting supplies.  DD sent me this:

Thanks for sharing, I know that feeling very well!

Roy, Sorry to hear about your brother's problem from surgery.  Hopefully it will turn out to only be a temporary setback and will hopefully get him to listen to his doctors a little more and take better care of himself.

I hope so but that doesn't seem to be his strong point.  He has been transferred to a hotel in Orlando, so they could be planning to keep him longer than overnight.  I hope with a little more time they can finally get through to him.

So sorry to hear this. Prayers it’s nothing serious and that he heals quickly. Back surgery is so tricky.

Wow, am very late to the party!  Sorry I missed ice cream for breakfast!  Although I have done that, especially when I was a picky teenager.

My compliments to Rich for his work to start such an entertaining daily, and to Roy for keeping his lists.  Roy, sorry about your brother, but maybe this setback will "get through" to him to follow doctor's orders.

This place is so pleasant to visit.  I have learned about new wines, drinks, travel destinations. etc.  Also I have enjoyed beautiful photos, new destinations, and just wonderful camaraderie!  Thanks (and compliments) to all.

Tomorrow is one day closer to our blue hulled beauties.  (And no compliments to the keeper of the Port Everglades Webcam--I wanted to see MS Nieuw Statendam!)
