You have summed up my opinion more or less in a nutshell.

There are too many posts just saying thank you ( which is nice) whereas the use of the "like" button  serves exactly the same purpose.  It's probably because all of us here are too polite.

So, as Selbourne  suggests, if all you are going to post is a simple "Thank You", perhaps just use the "like" button in future.

But that would do nothing to get posters to the top of the list of number of posts made!

You might say that, but I couldn't possibly comment!

I've only got another 13,000 "thank you's" to go.

It's the way of life Avril ,as we all get older we lose Hearing/eyesight/teeth/bladder control

and memory so forgetting what day it is is least of our problems .. and they call them the

golden years !! :classic_unsure::classic_smile:

If you get them all at once ,it's off to the nursing home for you but not to

worry I'd call by and tell you a few jokes. You would  be wetting yourself

with laughter , or come to think of it maybe just the wetting bit .:classic_unsure:

Very well said Avril.

It is not up to us to say what anyone can or cannot post on here.

I read every post on the threads I subscribe to and press like, thanks or funny icon to most of the posts.

Maybe more use of the + multi post function might be an option if a lot of posts together are to be answered.

Graham.

I like reading these forums and I'm all forum and Post on the forum because

I'm all forum . I think it's up to other posters to decide if they are forum or not

forum ,that's whether they like what they read on the forum or decide to post

on the forum .They can disagree on a forum but cannot tell people where and

when to post on a forum, the reason being it is a forum and that is what people

do on a forum even if your not forum !  I hope that helps make things more clear

Perfectly Kalos.😂

A lot of posting replies is instinctive to what you are replying to and no one should  feel reluctant to reply in case someone says there is no need for repetitive posts.

If someone posts I think it is respectful to reply if it relates to me.

Some posts don't particularly interest me but I read them and move on.

If people don't like a lot of posts they should join a buglers forum as

they will do the last post tonight :classic_unsure:

5pm tonight and it's Boris & spot the Brazilian speech on beeb 1 .

I think the reason for the short posts is a natural follow on from polite speech. If someone says Happy Birthday, the polite response is 'thank you', or if someone gives you some advice, again, 'thank you.' Yes I know there's a button for that, which I use, but sometimes it seems rather curt which makes me feel impolite. To me it's just basic good manners, whether written or spoken. We can post as often as we like, either one word, one emoji or one monologue and the only person that has a say in the matter is Sharon. So why can't we stop criticising others for their short posts, which we are all are guilty of by the way, and get back to our friendly selves. 😊

My problem is that I only pop in 3 or 4 times a day and there is often a pile of posts to wade through. So when I reply to a post then go back to where I was, I then find someone(s) have already replied making my later post obsolete, pointless and invalid, and me feel worthless. Kalos,  as our guidance counselor what help can you provide to help me overcome these psychological traumas?:classic_blink:
