Anyone Else Get This Survey From HAL?

Surveys are important for any vendors marketing  plans  ;however ,in the case of this pandemic   every thing is so new   & the CDC really rules what any cruise line can do to sail from any america port . Thus ,it is the CDC rules that ultimately count   . For us personally , we want every one over the age of 16  to be vaccinated  & that includes the crew  .We do not want to erat masks or be told we can not associate with fellow cruisers  like in a Meet & Greet or in the casino ,gym ,bars ,dining ie    .

Why cruise if you  are not wearing masks  outside   in the US

but have to wear a mask on a cruise ship ? I call that government control   & my rights  taken away   . We are not sheep

I got it yesterday and replied to it.  I was impressed that they asked the very questions that have been going through my own mind as we plan for future cruises.

We are 3-Star Mariners, and are booked with HAL in October 2022.  We will cancel by final payment time if we're still having to mask, distance, temperature check, etc, because we want cruises to be relaxing and low-stress.

We can afford to wait until "the coast is clear", but we think mid-2022 should be well beyond Covid concerns, and so we've also booked a June 2022 Cunard cruise.

That is our position as well .. Our next adventure also begins October 2022

I got the survey from Seabourn with whom have cruised one time.  I am 4 star with HAL, have three cruises booked and did not get the survey from HAL.  I wonder if the questions are the same.  I hope they are sharing the results within the corporate family in Settle.

Yes - we received survey yesterday ( 3 stars) and my answers were same as above!

My partner and I will be on the Nieuw Statendam from Quebec to Fort Lauderdale, 8 - 22 October 2022.  Which cruise is yours?

It amazes me that people get so upset if they don’t get to participate in a random survey!😁

I don't think that your reply is specifically directed at my comment.

But, as a 5 Star Mariner when I am not aboard a -dam ship, I sometimes feel like Rodney Dangerfield once said:  "I don't get no respect" from HAL.  No e-mails, no Cruise Atlas (when such was available), no snail mail mailings (received this week one each from Regent, Carnival, and Princess).  Random survey or not:  it would be appreciated to know that some "suits" in Seattle would like to learn what this past HAL guest thinks.

Sounds fabulous.  The two of us did a trans-Pacific a few years ago and loved it - key memory, the infinity pool at the Bora Bora Yacht Club with our ship in the background.

I’m in my seventies and have never been asked in a Gallup type poll or any other type my thoughts! I would imagine there are thousands of five star Mariners. I would imagine the total number of Mariners is mind boggling. I’m sure the computer program stated to randomly pick so many Mariners.

As stated before it would be very costly to ask all Mariners to partake to determine a trend that a random survey would draw same results.

When I  started a Holland America account I remember being asked if we wanted E-mail or other notifications. I said yes but I do wonder how many answered no and now question why they don’t receive E-mails etc?

My post was not directed at you it was brought up by being a CC member since 2007 and over the years people taking it personal they were not included in mailings etc.

It’s a systematic process.

Enjoy the weekend my friend.

For someone who did get the survey, can you tell the rest of us what kinds of questions it was asking.  In particular, did it ask if you were vaccinated and if you prefer a cruise where all other passengers and crew were also vaccinated?

As did I.  Never seemed to "register" and make any difference.

If I wanted any brochures, etc., my travel agent had to provide such.

Same age group and Nielsen periodically keeps contacting me for ratings information, particularly with the radio stations--online or not--to which I listen.  (Just as I am doing now:  Channel 703 on SiriusXM's Oldies Party.  It's Saturday night!  It's time to PARTY.)

I don't take the situation "personal".  Much more in life is more important than whether one gets a survey or not.  I do think a reasonable, unanswerable question might be, though:  "why them and not me"?  A response of "it's a random survey" is not a mentally satisfactory response for some, I suppose.

Your DW and you as well!  It's been a lovely Spring week-end thus far in Southwest Ohio.  And, I have been pleased with the results of the 2021 NFL draft for the Bengals so far.

Yes, it asked those types of questions.  And they were very specific.  Looks like HAL is trying to determine under what conditions someone would sail or not sail.

Finally got to 4* a couple of years ago. Have never been contacted direct for anything. I did book direct in February. 21days on the Niew Statendam for Feb next year. Got the package and cabin I wanted. Haven’t heard a peep since then. Will likely be transferring to  my travel agent shortly. Understand that the price has gone up substantially since then. It came in at 10G.
