It is good to know that the vaccines protect against hospitalization with the Delta variant circulating. None of those people in the linked article became really ill. The vaccines are working as they are intended to work, including the Delta variant.

Wishing on a star Posted July 14, 2021 #130 Share Posted July 14, 2021 (edited) Ummmm, no. Not sure what the confusion is. The thread I posted is right here, close to this thread... page two now... Rare oskidunker Posted July 14, 2021 #131 Share Posted July 14, 2021 Unless proof of vaccination is required, I would not sail from Florida. Many will though.

Jimmys Chippy Posted July 14, 2021 #133 Share Posted July 14, 2021 In my part of the U.K. vaccination is currently at 87% of all adults, and that percentage is significantly higher in the over 60s. Given the average age of passengers, I don’t expect cruise lines feel the need to be threatened by the loss of business from any of those who choose to be unvaccinated. Any chance of reducing the risk of a ship being taken out of service will be top of every cruise lines to do list for the next few years.

In other words......that claim for "religious exemption" was a bunch of hooey. Right. The state had no right to question what someone said was their religious belief. Wishing on a star Posted July 16, 2021 #138 Share Posted July 16, 2021 Yes, I noticed that, the next day.... Not sure how this all works and how that might make a difference???? I believed that the State of FL had actually passed this law, not just an act by the SG. Hhhhhmmmmm.
gardenbunny Posted July 16, 2021 #139 Share Posted July 16, 2021 Someone just sent me a video of a lady being escorted off a Royal Caribbean in the Bahamas and she was having a serious meltdown! Posed an interesting situation about people who have had Covid, had antibody test and have high count vs low, because not vaccinated (doesn’t CDC say you don’t need vaccine??) She had to have a pre cruise test which she did and passed. Boarding they gave her a purple wrist band for non vaccinated - next day they gave her a test - according to her they told her it was positive - quarantined her to her room overnite and removed her from ship next day. She asked for another test but they would not test her again. So what about people in that category?? What group do you belong to?? So complicated. Wishing on a star Posted July 16, 2021 #140 Share Posted July 16, 2021 (edited) It is not complicated.... She knowingly sailed with the 'VACCiNATED' wristband, which allowed her to, if she wanted, not follow protocols. It really is that simple. It is possible that THIS is the reason she was taken off the ship. The test was most likely done, just so they knew if they might have any COVID on board. It might not have had anything to do with whether or not she was truly 'positive'. It sounds like her assertive/negative behavior could also have been a factor. I would like to feel safe and have a more normal experience. We may have to go out of another port instead of Florida. We’ll see.
