6 Star - coming soon? if not, when?

We are tiring of being 5 star.  Free WIFI at 6 star would be nice.

Is it ever going to happen?

I'm not sure what it takes to get President's Club.  But I think we may get there before HAL creates 

a 6 star level.

You are confusing Medallion level with Star level. Two different things. One has perks, the other doesn't,  really.

I think it is 1400 days for President's Club and you have to be invited.  Does President's Club get free wi-fi?

I am just stating what is said to be offered.   And yes some people say President's Club does have perks.   You do have to pass Gold and Platinum medallion levels and be invited to President's Club.

I don’t know how to break it to my dog that we’re probably not even going to make it to Silver, much less President’s Club. She was so pleased to be surprised by a bronze medallion in 2019 and then the darn pandemic happened.

1400 Days to PC.  You do have to be invited but not sure anyone has never not been invited.  I think there are approximately 75 people in the PC group.  You do get some free stuff, can’t remember it all but seems like free flowers and a free bottle of liquor.  They also have some PC only events but I think that is only on grand voyages.  Not bad (actually compared to some other lines it is) after spending a minimum of $350,000 per person ($250/day x 1,400).

I vaguely remember some years back (pre-star days), a rather prominent poster at the time was complaining they had not been invited. At the time, the PC was rarely discussed and there were a handful of members.

To answer the original question,  I don’t think we will ever see a sixth star.

I understand that the reason for the invitation is that they verify that you actually paid a cruise fare for all of the 1400 days. There are a lot of people who get free cruise days such as lecturers, TAs for big companies who go on the Grand Voyages to provide services to their clientele, Tai Chi instructors etc.  I don't know if people who get casino fares may also fall into this category.   A person who falls into this category informed me that her cruise days would not count toward any Mariner benefits.

I have been Platinum...... for about 7 years.  There really needs to be a level after Platinum too.

Wouldn't it make sense to have something in between?  It doesn't have to 

be 600, 700, 800.

Make it 1000 days.  That would be wonderful!

Agree. This is where previous posters have been confused. 5 Star Mariner is 500 days, including suite bonus days and spending bonus days, where as President Club is in the Medallion (Bronze, Silver, Platinum, etc) series of status levels, and is based on actual days on a HAL ship (being careful not to further confuse the situation with the phrase "sea days").

 

The Star series of status levels has perks. Not aware the Medallion series does...we have about 180 actual days on ships, but about 460 days on the Star totals.

 

Met a President's Club married couple a cruise or two ago. They were the people on board with the most days that cruise. They were shockingly thin!!

Oh, I think that I've sailed with them!  The couple I'm thinking about is not only thin, they're rather tall also.  And at the Mariner reception, their white Platinum medallion ribbons were plastered with pins from previous voyages.  <-- do they even award those pins any more?  I have quite a few but haven't gotten a new one in a few years (you know, those enamel pins with "Statendam", "Ryndam", "Panama Canal", etc).

Interesting, never thought about those folks but they could accumulate a lot of days.

and sailing as a solo, I have well over 300 actual days yet only 468 days on the Star totals

Platinum gets you a few extras, at each ship's discretion.  Nice and welcome additions but quite variable

We've met quite a few Pres Clubs and one couple told us they are very rigid with food.  Example: at the Mariner Brunch they have a very large bowl of soup, then leave; lunch in the Pinnacle is the entree salad and a glass of wine. Sounds like a plan, but for the rest of us...........

Ha!  We have so much fun being four star, for what seems forever, that we can't imagine six.  Maybe instead of free laundry, they'll give us free clothes.  Lol.
