LoriAB Posted July 28, 2021 #1 Share Posted July 28, 2021 Hello! First European cruise and thinking of spending an extra day in Barcelona. Can anyone suggest a nice hotel that would be easy and convenient for newbies? Thanks.
Mrs f. Posted July 28, 2021 #2 Share Posted July 28, 2021 We stayed at the JAZZ HOTEL. Really liked it. Small. We walked to Placa Catalunya which is lovely. That's where the HOHO busses are. Also near a bunch of restaurants and subway
pno4te Posted July 28, 2021 #3 Share Posted July 28, 2021 We loved Hotel 1898. It is right on La Rambla so it couldn't be any more convenient!
Rare mskaufman Posted August 5, 2021 #4 Share Posted August 5, 2021 We can also say that Hotel Jazz was a positive experience. That said, stay where you want and take a taxi to the port (you will need to anyway).

helpthejuggler Posted August 6, 2021 #6 Share Posted August 6, 2021 I would chose Hotel Barcelona Catedral, perfect for a 1st time visitor
SusieKIslandGirl Posted August 20, 2021 #7 Share Posted August 20, 2021 We (hopefully) will be in Barcelona in October. After doing some research we realized 1 or 2 days ahead of our cruise wasn't going to be enough so we're booked for 5 nights. Can't wait!
papadave Posted September 13, 2021 #8 Share Posted September 13, 2021 Highly recommend Barcelo Sants Hotel at the Sants Train station. Easy for transportation, good value, good restaurants in the area. Personally, I would not stay on La Rambla, have been warned not to eat anywhere on La Rambla, and did not find the area around La Rambla very charming.
Yinster Posted October 12, 2021 #9 Share Posted October 12, 2021 Just stayed in Casa Camper. Close to La Rambles and lovely to stay in
kapitch Posted November 15, 2021 #10 Share Posted November 15, 2021 We are looking to spend 2 extra nights in Barcelona as well post-cruise in April. Do any of the hotels mentioned above provide easy transportation to the airport? Thanks in advance!
jelayne Posted December 15, 2021 #11 Share Posted December 15, 2021 Most hotels can arrange for a taxi or car and driver for a fee. Free airport transportation from/to hotels is not common in Spain
Rare JoePDX Posted December 29, 2021 #12 Share Posted December 29, 2021 Highly recommend El Avenida Palace. Nice historic hotel, just steps from Place Catalunya and the Passeig de Gracia (Casa Battlo etc.). Doorman can arrange taxi, etc. If you are OK with a little walk, it's about 5 minutes from Hotel to Placa Catalunya where you can catch the Aerobus (5,90 Euros per person) to the airport. https://aerobusbarcelona.es/?lang=en Joe

Rare mskaufman Posted February 13, 2022 #20 Share Posted February 13, 2022 We stayed at the A. Palace and had a good experience. Nicely located near the Placa Catalunya and the Guadi houses. Metro stop right outside the door.
Mrs f. Posted February 14, 2022 #21 Share Posted February 14, 2022 If staying at hotel Jazz, ask for a handicap room. The shower/tub doesn't have a grab bar and was quite difficult to get out of with new knee. At reception they said just ask for a handicap room. It's a great place. Very helpful staff
