Well, the family in Seattle that we were going to visit with have all tested positive, so we’re pivoting and have booked a flight to Boston today.

All in all, this was a great trip and we met so many wonderful people, saw fantastic sights, played some fun games, and gained about 100 lbs.

For anyone going next, the comics are fantastic, the four members of the entertainment team are wonderful, and you’re in for a fantastic week!

OMG, I'm so sorry you can't visit the Seattle family members but at least they told you before you showed up.  Stay safe and have a good flight home.  Thanks for your contributions this week while cruising.

Since I have a voucher for a "free" cruise I am seriously debating booking a late September trip back on the NA. Just need to figure out who to take with me since the kids will be in school.

Thanks to all of you for following along and I wish you all great adventures and safe travels in the future!

Join us on NA's September 25th sailing!!

I just wanted to finally add my gratitude for all the information that I have been able to gather from not only this cruise but also the previous ( first one back) cruise.  We sail on the August 28 cruise.  As first time HAL and first time Alaska cruisers, DW and I benefitted immensely form following all this on CC. To Those of you that provided info on both of these cruises, we thank you sooo much.  We now look forward to following along on the third sailing.  We will come to grips with the new masking/testing requirements and will look forward to experiencing Alaska on the New Amsterdam.  I might have to have drink and a bag of chips in my hand 100% of the time to satisfy the not having a mask while eating or drinking rule.  Lol. Not really.  We will certainly play by the rules.

That is what it tasted like ... Not very special. Ugh!

The drink didn't sound appealing to me.  Now, a draft Heineken?  OK.  (Oh, I forgot.  Such is no longer available unless the F&B "suit" in Seattle realized that the Nieuw Amsterdam is a Dutch registered ship.)

It has been a pleasure joining you and your kids on this journey. Thank you for taking us along.
Hope it was a safe trip home, and you have many pleasant memories to unpack over the next few days.

@Brentt_M Since it looks like you spent some time in the casino, how did you like the dealers / croupiers? We thought everyone we met during our 7/24 cruise was very nice and excited to be working. Ricardo, in particular, was a lot of fun. Thanks.

Half of the craps crew worked on the N. Statendam when we sailed on its last cruise before the pause and they recognized me immediately.  That might be a sign I spent too much time at the craps table last cruise or maybe it's cause I tip pretty well or maybe they remember what happend on that cruise.

Anyways everyone in the casino (staff-wise) was great. Some other guests not so much. People would slam into you and push you out of their way while you were standing at the craps table.  It was actually crazy how much that happend and not once did anyone say excuse me or apologize.

We are still on our way home. Our flight from Seattle had engine trouble and delayed us for a bit, but we made the last connection in vegas to KC and I should be in bed a little after 3am.

What I have found in the UK, due to our long periods of being in lockdown, people have lost their social skills.  They do not know how to interact with people, which so sad.  I don’t know if it’s the same in the US.

Some people are just rude.

The main reason I avoid Craps tables, they always look claustrophobic.

So we ended up getting home around 4am and our vacation is officially over now. However, our luggage was having none of that and is still on vacation somewhere...

Oh gosh, how terrible, I thought you said you used the service...I prefer to handle my own luggage when there are transfers of any kind involved.  Amtrak once did that to me, I got off in Georgia, and my luggage decided to go see the sights in New Orleans.

Oh no.  I hate when that happens.  Hope it decides to join you at home soon.
