Can you sit at the bar?

Something I like to do. Love to see the bartenders making drinks and chatting with them. Normally do it at most restaurants we go to since we are a empty nesters just recently.

My understanding is vax areas only - so casino, solarium and other adults only areas with no chance of someone not being vaccinated allow for bar seating.

 

I am guessing seating is spaced out - but my understanding is still available in these bars.

This seemed to be the case on our allure cruise last week. We couldn’t sit at suite lounge bar but it isn’t vax only. I missed being able to do that

On our Adventure cruise which was Vaxxed only, you could sit at all bars.

That's odd. We were on the Adventure in June and we could not sit at any bars at all, including the casino bar. They were VERY strict about it too.

We have been able to sit at the Casino Bar and Schooner Bar on Freedom, and the Casino Bar and the Pub bar on Odyssey. Those areas are vaccinated-only.

I just asked a friend who is on Adventure now.  You cannot sit AT the bar but at tables in the bar area.  So there are different reports from different ships.

There was definitely no sitting at the bar on my Adventure sailing in June. After a couple of positive tests came back I was even asked not to stand there while he made my drink. I sat down at a table and the bartender brought me my drink.

On the Mariner you could sit at the bars in the vaccinated areas same bar seats as usual. Wondering how that will change next month when everyone over 12 has to be vaccinated if the seats will come back in the other venues.

Ours wasn't a vaccinated only cruise on 8/15  Don't know if all are going forward

On allure now and the areas of the bars where there are seats have a sign saying all of the seats are reserved for social distancing. Technically one person or two could sit down, but the bartenders were shooing everyone else away from the remaining seats

You can sit at the bar as long as you put bread in the jar and say "man, what are you doing here"

Same with me on July Adventure cruise. No bar seats.

I was on Adventure in July and there were bar seats open at a few bars.

Probably jumping the gun. Not sailing Serenade until the end of October. Just trying to get some feedback on what we might expect knowing protocol might change for the better or worst when we sail. Everything is fluid. Tired of hearing the term fluid so much since Covid, but this is a thing now.

We just got off Independence of the Seas, which was a all vaccinated ship for all over 12 and in the bars designated as vaccinated only (most of them)  or outside bars you can sit at the bar.
